Gawd, Mark with one of his endless MJ obsessions...I'm so over him, there's no saving it. He just needs to go. Let Derek stay a few more seasons, and Mark can go "explore his artistic" whatever, as long as it's somewhere else. I'm just tried of him!

PYT for Shawn...don't get me wrong, I think she is a great dancer, but its like she just dances...if that makes any sense.
Bristol...lawdy...bathroom break!

I agree, especially since Gilles lost by such a ridiculously close margin--and Cheryl did him no favors with that free dance. I don't know what she could have been thinking with that one, as it was more about the female half of the couple than the male and it should have featured Gilles much more. Besides, Apolo and Emmitt already have mirror ball trophies, so lets spread the wealth around.
I could do without the regular tango, too, as well as the waltz. The international versions have the American Smooth, which I guess is just a mish-mash of dance styles combined into one (or something like that), but it allows lifts so I'd want it for that reason aloneI'd also like to see the mambo brought back. Though Emmitt restored my love of the cha cha last week, that's another dance I wouldn't mind not seeing for a few seasons.
Yeah, it does. She's technically fine, but I think she has more trouble expressing the character of the dances, possibly just because she's fairly young yet, and because so much of her youth was spent focused on elite gymnastics that she just doesn't have a lot of life experience to call on. I know a voice teacher who refers to teenagers who have trouble expressing the emotional content of some pieces as "just not having enough miles on the odometer yet." Maybe that's what it is with Shawn too.
I have to think (or maybe it's just hope), that Mark won't be far behind Derek when it comes to leaving the show, especially if Derek finds success like Julianne. I've heard rumors that the British version was considering signing Mark and Lacey on for next fall if they decide to replace any of their long time pros, but that might just be a rumor. However, I'd be curious how the British audience would treat him, if Len and Bruno would be the same towards him, and how the other 2 judges on the panel would go for his style.
He does need to grow his hair back.
The thing with the waltz is that they also do the VW. Same with the tango, I suppose, as they also do the AT. If they did just one or the other, they could fit in some other dances as well. I know there are differences between the waltz and the VW and the tango and the AT, but there are so many ballroom dances that choosing just one of each of those pairs would allow DWTS to showcase some of the rest of them too.
Speaking of jives...I sure wish Kyle Massey was here this season...his insta-jive is still my favorite!
Okay, after we see Kirstie's can we FF to whose going home?! Lol.

I wonder if this is part of the reason DWTS is starting to see a ratings drop-the performance and results show are just seeming way too long for some viewers? I know it's all about advertising and money, but especially when we get down to so few couples, it really is tedious.
Plus, this doesn't quite count as the results show, but even the recap might be DWTS overload.
We need to do classical week again. I could go for it every week, if we can get performers like Katherine at the mic (and I guess I totally missed the fact that she performed during that season).
