CA said they're looking for technique this season, but they like performances like this.
Len said if you can't dance much, come out and entertain. Tom said that was an interesting way of complimenting. Basically, the judges are saying it was a great, fun routine, but horrible technique wise.

That was pretty harsh. Now, I don't really know much about technique and requirements and all of that junk, but that seemed pretty good to me. Better than Emmitt's, I thought, more entertaining than Bristol and Sabrina's. I liked it! And I love anything that channels the silent film/20s era.

Joey and Kym dance wasn't that good. It was just ok. Their costumes were the worst of the night so far. The costumes tonight, overall, are about as yucky as the music.

I'm surprised Len hasn't griped about the use of props tonight, since plenty of people have used them--light poles, couches, saloon doors etc.

Whew, the judges get cranky with the wrong ones! So annoying!
Gotta say though, it's a pretty lackluster night!
Sure hope Gilles brings it!

And I do not want to go around in circles about his joke further other than to say that I do not see it with malicious intent you do and, to be perfectly honest, I sincerely doubt Helio or Apolo do either. If Emmitt was on the same season as Jerry Rice, he would have inserted Wide Receiver into that joke -- because it is that much of a standard jock joke.

I'm surprised Joey wouldn't be doing better, since he did the Vegas show, and did a lot better his original season.
Scores: 7.5 all across the board. Did they lose their other paddles?

I don't think Joey's the sort who can really pull off the Charlie Chaplin look. Chaplin was so much slighter than Joey, and he didn't go in for the big, exaggerated expressions that a lot of silent film comedians used, and that Joey himself uses. He was the little tramp and that's not really a good fit for Joey's personality.
