I saw it exactly the way you saw it. The booing was because the audience thought Jennifer and Derek deserved higher scores. It didn't have anything to do with Sarah Palin. She had been sitting in the audience the whole night, if anyone was going to boo her they would have done it much earlier.Originally Posted by tango7;4071174;
The only time the DWTS audience ever boos is over judge's remarks or judge's scores. They are very supportive of the contestants, no matter who they are, and I certainly don't think they would have been so crass as to boo a contestant's family member. I think people are just assuming that's what the booing was about, but since it was right after Jennifer and Derek's scores were announced, I thought it was pretty obvious it was because the audience disagreed with their score, and thought it should have been higher.
Jennifer may have the best native ability, but my new sentimental favorite is Kurt Warner. I want to see him go far. Kyle Massey is a surprise--he's got great movement and performance skills. Last week I would have said Brandy had a shot at the mirrorball, but Audrina blew right past her tonight.
However, I don't think anyone is served by the jive. It's nothing but a novelty stunt dance and I hate it. That outfit on Brandy verged into schoolgirl porno!
Michael looks great for a 57-year-old; unfortunately he moves more like an 87-year-old. Just a notch above Buzz in the movement department. I thought a '3' was harsh, though. Buzz nor Khate nor anybody got a 3 last season when they surely would have been deserved.
Anyone who expected Bristol Palin to be just a younger Khate is kind of having their expectations confounded, I think. Say what you will, haters--I think Bristol's quick step was very proficient, and her dress was suitable for the style of the dance. She is comporting herself better than I would have expected. 8s were high, but she looked lovely and did not embarrass herself. One does not develop performance skills overnight or even in several weeks, but Bristol seems remarkably poised to me, and is always smiling. Can she do a tango? I'm not completely ruling it out, based on what I saw tonight. And--compared to Audrina's vaporizing over not being able to spend time with her boyfriend, Bristol has a lot more weighty matters on her plate, and still was able to pull together an admirable performance. Bristol is not as good as Audrina or Brandy or Jennifer, but she's better than Margaret and Florence and MB--pretty solidly in the middle. Who would have thought? Not me.
Go Kurt! What a crowd pleaser. I adore him!
OK, I'm sitting here confused. Isn't Jennifer Grey practically a professional dancer-- or used to be? Am I wrong about this? I know she's not a spring chicken, but she's not THAT old and look how toned she is! Plus she has all the dance moves and attitude or whatever you call it. Is she not a 'ringer'-- like we call the ones who are meant to win? Was I the only one going''Ringer!" to my tv and rolling my eyes at all the huffing and puffing and collapsing on the floor she did? Margeret Cho is about the same age and while winded, didn't act like that-- and she's certainly not in the same great shape. Is Jennifer Grey not this year's 'Ringer'?
I felt bad for Bolton and the 3 was a disgrace. Kate didn't get that and she posed one week and was worse than he was by far. A 3 is an insult as at least he tried. I think judges are ticked he stayed and Hoff went so it was payback time and they want Bolton out next. Situation was bad again. He has some charisma but the dancing just isn't there and it's not going to get where it needs to be. I do however think his fans will carry him for some time. Florence is very impressive for her age but not a contender.
Audrina is my dark horse and I hope she has the fans to keep her in it. She's been much better than expected. Grey is the best and Brandy while decent just isn't likeable at all. Rick and Kurt are both enjoyable and Kyle is adorable. Bristol was pretty good but scores were a little high tonight. Glad to see Cho dance and leave the comedy out of it.
I would think Bolton goes unless he gets major sympathy votes.
I consider Brandy and Grey mini-ringers but this season's ringers nonetheless.Originally Posted by stcroix1;4071317;
I have to disagree that Kate was the worst ever; she was at least better than Master P (my personal worst, and lasted it seemed like forever!) Kenny Mayne, Cloris, Evander and a couple of others were far worse, in my opinion.Originally Posted by karalott;4071284;
