Brandy & Maksim Chmerkovskiy - Season 11

We’ve seen her grow up. And now we’re excited to see this multi-talented accomplished artist hit the dance floor. We just hope she doesn’t try to dance in her Cinderella glass slippers.

Brandy is a platinum-selling R&B and pop singer, actress, songwriter, and record/television producer. In 1994, at the age of fifteen, Brandy released her eponymous debut album selling over 6 million copies. Following a major success with “The Boy Is Mine,” a duet with singer Monica which spent 13 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart, she won a Grammy® Award for Best R&B performance by a duo or group. The accompanying album Never Say Never in 1998 sold over 16 million copies worldwide. A series of hit CD's followed, including Full Moon, Afrodisiac and Human bringing the star’s sales over 30 million records to date.

While maintaining a recording career, Brandy also gained fame as an actress, starring in several film and TV projects including the popular UPN sitcom, Moesha (1996-2001), the 1997 version of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Double Platinum, a miniseries co-starring Diana Ross, and the movie I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. Brandy has also been spokesmodel for Cover Girl, Candies Shoes, DKNY, Sketchers Shoes and Ultima/Kaneka brand by Brandy.

Her civic and charity interests include the Make-A-Wish Foundation and The Norwood Kids Foundation which supports music and the performing arts in public schools. She is currently filming season 2 of the hit VH1 reality show Brandy and Ray J: a Family Business which she stars in and is Executive Producer. She is also in studio recording a new CD for release in 2011.

Go Brandy/Maks! I hope she doesn't fizzle out or have too much expected of her and the judges jump all over any little mistake that they overlook with someone else. She's one of 3 couples that are making my season so far.

I don't care who Maksim dances with. I always stay focused on him anyway. Brandy is pretty and young. I hope she moves well. She and Maksim will make a pretty pair.

I really like Maks, so I want to root for this couple. I don't know though...something about Brandy has always struck me as arrogant. I'm really hoping that's just a figment of my imagination I'll have to see how she acts on the show before I can make a call.

I've read a few reports that claim Brandy is going to be the biggest surprise this season and that she has the most natural talent of any of the stars. Jennifer is still the favorite to win with odds makers, but sources are saying Brandy is really good. I really hope this is true for Maks' sake. He should have won with Mel B and I would LOVE to see either him or Tony finally win.

At this point, I just want anyone but the trio to win. 6 seasons of them and their obnoxious celebrations is 6 seasons too many. Let some other pros have that luxury. I'm hoping either Maks, Anna, or Tony takes it. Long overdue for all 3, and they've had some of the worst (attitude and/or dance wise). I've actually been surprised reading in the media that people are impressed with Brandy's skills. I figured it was a given she'd be a front runner Then again I've only ever heard her sing, not dance, and the performances I've seen on the talk show circuit she didn't do much of that. I'm hoping she doesn't fizzle like Toni Braxton. I'll brace myself Maks might be looking at 2nd/3rd again. There's 11 couples, and very few have much fanfare in terms of doing well. We could have a Warren Sapp or Gilles Marini in the mix. Well, maybe not Gilles

If a repeat winning pro had to take it, I'd vote for Kym.

I am so glad that Brandy is doing great and that her and Maks are real contenders against the favorite to win Jennifer/Derek pairing. We need great performers to make this season much more fun to watch. Go Brandy/Maks!
