Maybe it's because I find Derek to be obnoxious and annoying and I just don't like him, but he really needs to get over it. I didn't see him complaining when they got higher scores than they deserved, so he needs to stop fighting this lift thing.

Not that I think it'll go down in DWTS scandalous history like the lift incident of season 5 with Jane/Tony, but it'd be funny if suddenly CA started dinging Derek because she didn't like him questioning her lift critiquing skills. She seems to take off when she wants and maybe when she has to even if she doesn't want to. That's what she gets for starting the whole stupid lift thing in the first place. She didn't have it in the early seasons.

You're going to get your trophy Derek, don't worry. It's not like people care about CA's comments anyway.

Freestyles:

Erin/Maks: I'm sorry, I really didn't like it much. I thought it was creative and outside the box, so points for that, but the throws on the bed were kind of messy (her legs didn't have a position). Overall, I thought the marks were pretty good.

Evan/Anna: Also a bit messy, but fun, full of energy and expression. I thought they could have matched Erin/Maks nines. I really didn't get the 8's. AT ALL.

Derek/Nicole: It started out well, but not out of this world. I noticed it looked like they were flubbing their costume change, and the cameras panned to the judges instead of staying on the dancers (do the cameras ever do that? That was weird). At first I thought it was because they didn't want us to see Derek/Nicole flubbing, but it could be that they didn't want a horrid wardrobe malfunction on live tv. It obviously threw Derek/Nicole off though, because they also messed up their lift just following. As for marks, after that, I think they were lucky to get nines. An eight or two wouldn't have been crazy.

And that is my unbiased opinion, marred of course, by my own personal taste.

I agree. Erin/Maks, beautiful expression but just sort of creepy...too racy for the hour it is on TV and the comments after were just awful. Especially since DWTS has had children on 8 years old performing. They need to make up their mind who they want to appeal to. They are pushing it this season with too many shirtless men, pants so low that a 1 inch miss would reveal all. Also the lingerie dances with bras and undies (Kym) and slip dresses that really are slips. They are taking advantage of us. I thought Erin was beautiful and did a great job but it was just too personal and TMI....would have been better on SYTyCD or something else.

Do not understand the deliberate trashing edit of Evan. They did fine, it deserved better than 8's especially if E/M got 9's. That's just mean!

Derek and Nicole did a great job. Derek is just plain crazy good at choreography and the steps they were doing were amazingly good. From a dance standpoint they are heads above the rest. But sentimentally I am for Evan just as a personal favorite because I know that this has not been easy for him and he is keeping a skating schedule up at the same time that they don't even mention. But if Nicole gets it, she deserves it and so does Derek. Derek is a hard worker and never seems to get ruffled no matter what they throw at him unlike the two female pros who were reduced to tears with frustration and overload. But I do agree he has had a lot to work with and it does make you wonder what he could have done with someone like Macy Gray, lol.

How odd because when I watched it back the music was still going when Nicole was picked up. Hmmm....

Great show - great dances - the scores were all over the place and I'm shocked Evan is in 3rd place and Erin and NIcole are tied - I'm sure all that will change after tonight's dances. The Samba and Nicole's Freestyle were the best dances of the night.

I feel sooo bad for Evan and Anna. Anna seems devastated. Honestly, good choreography is soo important, and it was clear she was stumped. I think this is is where Derek and Nichole have the real advantage. Derek is already a fabulous choreographer. Combined with Nicole's input, they really do make magic together.

I did not care for Maks' and Erins' bedroom scene. Way to close to the real thing for my comfort zone.

If the footage we saw last night is to be believed, the end product Anna put together was a compromise, and as Len said neither of them really got what they wanted from that dance. But I have to agree with Len (or CA ?) that when they dance side by side they have to be in sync, they did look like they were both doing a different dance, contrast that with Nicole and Derek's dance and you can see the synchronicity.

Are they the best dancers out there... sure they are, and they SHOULD be, we knew they would be from the start... she does choreographed routines for a living, for goodness sake! That's what irks me about her, and Evan, they do this for a living, who cares that it's not ballroom, it's still dancing in some form. The premise of the show is take a "star" and turn them into a dancer, not take a dancer and teach them a different kind of dance.

Nicole is so arrogant about this, like it's her god-given right to win but at least Evan is humble about it all, so if Erin and Maks can't win (the true essense of what the show was created for) then I wan't Evan to win, at least he'll be grateful about it.

I absolutely LOATHE the way they mug for the cameras at the beginning of the show, along with the dancing they do - why can't they just tone it down a little?? And I didn't like the 'kissing of the guns' as Nicole said she was going to win. Entitled much?

Did anyone notice that when Derek & Nicole were in the "Cry and score" area she put her hands on her hips and her index fingers were inside her waistband of her pants pushing them lower? I thought she was going to reveal even more. Yech!

yep, I mentioned how raunchy I thought that was too. those pants were low enough, but to push them down further to a point where you know she waxes, says a lot about her *gag*

I think the judges got the order right last night but the margins wrong. There is no was Evan / Anna deserved to be that far below the other couples on the freestyle. E/A's choreography was certainly not inspired, but they carried it off flawlessly. There were no errors in execution. I can't say that for either of the other two dances. Evan deserves to be only a point or two behind the leaders going into tonight's round. I threw most of my votes his way to help make up for the discrepancy. I also voted for Erin / Maks. I hope these two are in the F2. At that point we will have to trust the judges to decide.
