I agree, and kudos to them for their awesomeness, but the minute they started dancing I thought, "look, it's Team Nicole". When one competitor is just on such a different level from all the rest of the competition, it just seems to take all the joy out of it for everyone but the fans of that one team. JMO.
Re: 5/18 Results Show Discussion **Spoilers**
I'm glad the finale is shaping up the way I wanted it since about week 4. I would have preferred to see Pamela make it to the semis instead of Chad. I thought she deserved it. Chad did do a great job in the end. He did turn in a classy performance over the last couple of weeks. He is what this show is supposed to be about. He grew in his dance ability a tremendous amount over the course of the show.
I have no grudge against Nicole. She deserves to be where she is in spite of my personal dislike of Derek's maturity level. If she and Derek do win this season I hope that Derek will handle the win with more class than the year he won the title with Brooke. That celebration with him carrying off the trophy while he left Brooke standing there was the low point of all the years of DWtS IMHO. I hope he's grown up a little since then. If I had been Julianne I would have slapped him upside the head once they got offstage.
Design a Dance was a complete dud. Yuk! I did vote in the beginning. I wanted Kristi & Gilles. That would have been fun to watch. Once Melissa and Joey were selected I didn't vote for the dance choice because I didn't care. I knew it would be a complete train wreck.
Please keep wannabe singers like Miley off this show! She sucked. If she doesn't turn herself around, and quickly, she'll turn into another Britney Spears or Lindsay Lohan. I remember back when Disney used to take care of its child stars and not let the attention ruin them. Please bring back the days of Frankie and Annette.
For now I will sit back and enjoy the final. I am rooting for Evan, but I will wait to vote until the final performances are in. I will not pre-judge as I think all of the remaining couples are deserving because of different reasons. Let the finals begin!

Agreed! It'll be such an impressive night, I'm sure. And, yes, whoever does win, despite any allegiances I may hold, will be deserving. Everyone, way back to even Jake, worked so hard. Kudos to them.
Re: 5/18 Results Show Discussion **Spoilers**
I have been reading this since the beginning and Nicole certainly deserves as much a win as Evan. It angers me to see everyone against her because she sings and dances. Which in my opinion this dancing is a lot different then what she does on the Pussy cat dolls. And as for everyone loving Evan he is fabulous just like her but don't tell me he doesn't have experience he has been ice skating his whole life and is very flexible and his posture is amazing. So it works both ways. Please give her credit where it is due. She is so good and to be bashed because she is a singer and dancer it is really totally different. Ok I just had to say my thing. :) continue on hehe
Re: 5/18 Results Show Discussion **Spoilers**
I did not enjoy Melissa and Joey’s dance – maybe if the costumes weren’t a distraction :shrug
Erin & Maks FTW!! :party
Re: 5/18 Results Show Discussion **Spoilers**
I'm a great Melissa and Joey fan however, their dance last night was pretty sad. I'm not sure if it was the music, Joey's make-up, the choreography, the dancing or what. Joey looked fat - especially in that costume and Melissa looked skanky. I'm thinking there's a reason that "pros" are "pros." I think they not only dance better but are able to make their partner look good. Such a waste of time!
Re: 5/18 Results Show Discussion **Spoilers**
It took me a while to figure out they were dancing to Kiss' Rock and Roll all night - they really need to just play the juke box.

Ah, but that was a dance competition for dance students/teams who are supposed to be good. (As opposed to "stars" supposedly "out of their element" - and Nicole doesn't appear to be.)
And from their back story, you can't say they aren't working their butts off to be successful. I understand your point, but to me, they deserve kudos as the playing field should be fairly level and they were both good. I really enjoyed Rutgers dance, as I stated way up-thread, but UVU was clearly better and shouldn't be penalized for that.
Re: 5/18 Results Show Discussion **Spoilers**
I somewhat agree Nana - Joey was one of my favorite stars, but he so out of shape he couldn't really. I thought Mel was pretty good though. I wonder how long they praticed?

I certainly gave them kudos and never claimed they didn't deserve them. It's just that it was clear to me that they are so far superior to the other 3 teams that it really isn't that enjoyable to watch as a competition, unless you are a fan of theirs. I don't fault UVU in the slightest for being so great, but wish the producers could have found more equally competitive teams to make it a little more balanced. I guess I just don't enjoy watching runaways/blowouts as a rule. I guess that also explains why Nicole, although she is a fabulous dancer and I would love to watch her in an exhibition, is becoming tiresome in this competition to me.
