If you think Kate was a pong, what do you think of Tom squeezing the last drops of her life out of the show at the end with a teary interview instead of dancing? That pretty much summed up ABC's tabloidish exploitation of her. It wasn't just Kate seeking fame; ABC is the dirty enabler. It takes two to tango.

My take is that if Kate were a dishrag, by the time she left, they would have wrung every drop of moisture they could get out of her.

BTW, this in no way addresses her part in the endeavor.

I love the results of last night's show, so no problem there! However, I was confused about what is meant by "in jeopardy" pertaining to the couples who were not declared safe at first. I guess that's done for drama, but how are they singled out? Pamela and Kate were the B2, but why were Jake and (who else was it) "in jeopardy"? Does that mean they were only slightly above the B2 in viewer votes and had less viewer votes than the others who were safe? I think both the voting and the way the results are presented on this show are wonky.

Well, glad so many of you are ready to start the party. I can't join in until fake Jake's smile gets off my tv screen. He has ruined DWTS for me this season and it seems he's not going anywhere anytime soon. He thinks he's Tom Cruise now.

The had to keep the suspense, they couldn't keep calling everyone safe until the last two couples were brought to the front - it was there way of dragging it out - I actually liked that they did it that way - it kept a few of them on their toes a little longer. For once Jake and Chelsie looked happy to be staying.

I really don't think it indicated anything about ranking, just added some drama

Not always, sometimes it just takes one dragging the other around the floor.
Who knows why she exited the way she did.......I'm just glad that she did. Did I miss the group hug?

I was thinking about the "It takes two to tango" quote and you nailed it with your response.

Regarding the group hug, unless it happened after the show stopped airing, I would say that the lack of one about sums up how others felt about her. I re-watched the ending today to observe who was offering consolation and what the crowd reaction was when Kate's name was announced. The collective boo or awwww or sympathy was not anywhere close to where it was when Aiden left last week or when Buzz Aldrin left.

I think it was just from drama. They announced it in 4 groups last night so they made 1 safe and 1 in potential danger. I don't think it meant Jake or Chad really were in jeopardy.

I agree about the minimal audience reaction. Too bad they didn't applaud with us, but that would have been tacky and offensive to Tony.

As for the dancers ... if you have a chance, take a look at Maks' face when Tony is doing the obligatory kind words about Kate. Maks' could have a little thing above his head that says "yeah, right. yada yada yada"rofl

I think they just left a few of them swinging in the wind so that the announcement at the end would be more suspenseful. Also that it not look like a done deal when Kate was announced as B2 right at the beginning.

I think it's nice that they let Kate adapt to her imminent departure though out the whole show. :grin Maybe when she talked to Tom earlier, and she told him she knew it was her going, she asked that if it was, they announce that she was in the bottom 2 at the beginning of the show so she could compose herself and they accommodated her.

Kate went into full Demure Kate mode. How fake. Brooke had to hug her the whole time and Tom was holding her hand because the poor single mother was just so upset to be leaving. I love how she talked about giving it her all when she has admitted to not practicing hours every day and we all know she was on a media tour. Poor poor Kate who couldn't dance and didn't even care. Good freakin' riddance.

Actually, I would have preferred to see Erin and Maks dance their Jive again. It was ten times better than Jake and Chelsie's Cha Cha. They went with the biggest prop of the night, after ripping Pamela and Damian apart for their props and ripping on Maks for reading a menu too long. Maks was at least dancing while he was reading the menu. Jake was just posturing, doing the Tom Cruise thing and trying to get his pants on in time.

The judges' idea of fairness is well... questionable.

ITA! If I weren't so thrilled with the results, I'd be totally irritated! But nothing can ruin my euphoria right now.
