I don't think we'll be seeing Edyta next season, so I was hoping she'd finally get her trophy.

I know At least she didn't go first. If she is back next season, they need to give her the cream of the crop.

Kate's really taking the fun out of this cheesy dance show. I don't think I've ever been so annoyed or disliked any former contestant like I have her. I think it's just her as a person and what a crock she is, but on top of it, people pity her and think she deserves to stay. So let's see her outlast better couples and see her, Tony, and the show/judges spin that and try to stay positive. These judges need to get real with their scoring. If the DO is back next week it's our only chance of getting rid of her. I can't imagine any sceanrio where she'd get their votes to stay, though one would be bound to throw her a pity vote I'm sure. She has to land in the bottom 2, but I think they'd manipulate that if they thought long term she might have a negative effect.

My bigger worry is, if they like what Kate's done for their popularity and ratings, who will they get next season to top her?

Nicole's attitude tonight really bothered me. So I guess she's going to be shocked every week she's not on top and she's going to pout about it.

I felt for Nicole, and I knew that her comment (the way it was edited anyway) would really make people start disliking her. I can understand what she meant about being an artist. When you excel at something you love to do, you put your all into it and you don't release it to the world until it's ready. She is now in a position where she's being asked to perform in a way she isn't familiar with, and when she doesn't feel she's done her best, she gets frustrated, because it was beyond her control and the world saw it anyway, and even though she's in the same boat as the other contestants, she sees it as something that gets added to her legacy.

Yeah it's a little self-indulgent, but it's part of what creative people are concerned with. And calling her an artist isn't a stretch, because anyone who sustains themselves by creating original work in the arts is an artist.

But ABC's callous edit of that moment just makes her look like a brat, when the only person she is down on is herself. It's really not fair to her.

We already have a porn star in Pam and Kim K was too. Granted they were home "videos" but still. And then there was the low point of Holly Madison.

I really think Kate is the ruination of this show, a real Jump The Shark contestant.

It might just have jumped. I mean I am all for cheesey stars etc.... but I never despised any of them!

I'm soooo bummed. I try to remind myself that it's just a show and doesn't really affect my life, but---it's so wrong that an ugly person stays while someone who is progressing in dance and doesn't bring his personal drama to the show is gone.
And, just from the people on this board, none (or almost none) of us are voting for her. So I guess it offends my sense of decency and fairness that she's still there. It also ticks me off to see her "happy face" which is, I'm sure, a result of tptb telling her how sour she's been looking and suggesting she sweeten up her attitude.

karalott - I think you're on to something here. It makes me mad that I always start watching these shows later than most people and I honestly believe they're real. I read an article in USA Today this afternoon that talked about how DWTS was beating AI in the ratings. I'll bet they'll do anything they can to keep themselves on top, including getting "stars" who will polarize us. I'll just wait for the latest outcast from Ali's B-rette season - or Ali herself! I wouldn't mind seeing Kiptyn or Reid on the show, though!

I guess whoever is "in the news" in July will be in the next cast. Don't they generally annouce the cast in August? To me, the whole show is being ruined by including people like Kate.
