I agree with you there, Tango.
It's a shame that Shannen got the first elimination. She was better than some of the others but it all seemed to fall into place with Mark's injury and her discomfort (hives) as a result of performing. I do, however, hope Khate goes home before Buzz. I don't consider her to be better than him. Khate next, then Buzz. After that, I'm less "invested" except I don't really want to see another Derek Hough win.

You pretty much summed up my thoughts. Buzz is a sweetheart and, unlike Kate, is really trying and enjoying himself. He's not taking it seriously to where it's getting the best of him, but is willing to learn and try his hardest. I do think on that level and the fact that he's not Kate means he should outlast her, but then it should be his time. Everyone else left has so much potential to become really good, if they're not already there, and so much more to show. It'd be a shame if their season was cut short. And as was raised above, does anyone really want to have to see the judges start getting tough on him?

Yes, in an ideal scenario, Kate will go this week and then Buzz next week (for my own personal taste, Jake could go somewhere in there as well), but I wonder if Kate sticks around longer, will Buzz supporters keep voting for him just to outlast her, even if it means losing some of the better dancers?

When do they announce the dances for next week? If Buzz gets a Latin dance, it may not be easy to watch.

The dances next week are rumba and tango. Buzz might pull off a good tango, but I don't think he's going to do anymore than just walk across the floor and I see him having a hard time getting into the character. If he gets the rumba it might be worse, because I see Ashly having him just stand there and use him as a prop rather than risk him attempting to dance. Either way, both dances are going to require a lot of character and passion, and with two sets of scores, if he does survive, I doubt he'll get through next week. I think the judges starting to turn on Buzz a little is them paving the way for his exit. If not this week, then next.

And a Kate/Jake/Buzz elimination for the next 3 weeks would be fine with me. Preferably in that order.

I actually thought he did a decent job last night compared to last week. He got the scores he deserved for the dance but I think it's complete BS Kate got a little higher when he not only did as good, if not better of a job, than her, but is so much more pleasant to watch.

karalott ... I totally agree. Since neither Khate nor Buzz are quality dancers, and will not be in the finals then the only thing that is left is entertainment value. Buzz kicks her butt on this. He deserves to stay longer, and so did Shannon.

I can't say Buzz's boot wasn't undeserved but I do wish he had outlasted Kate or heck, even Jake. He didn't seem too pleased about being voted off. I guess it came as a surprise. I notice the audience reaction at the end hasn't been too strong in terms of cheers or boos as the couples are announced safe/bottom 2. Shock and/or anticipation in the hopes that it's Kate?

It was really a pleasure watching Buzz. He's a great man who has so much to be proud of and needs to be admired for all he's the accomplished and the fact he was able to do this show in the first place. I loved the fact that he tried hard and had fun. I really think they were both expecting his fan base/sympathy factor to keep them around a few more weeks. I hope we get to Ashly back again next season, and not 7 seasons from now.

Ashly did a wonderful job. Buzz did his country proud. What else did we expect from someone his age, when it comes to dancing? They were very sweet.

See, I think it depends on what one finds entertaining. I bet a lot of Kate's votes come from people who think watching her suffer while butchering a dance is entertaining.

I have to admit I was surprised that I felt disappointment at Buzz' elimination (also thought his fans would have carried him further), since I generally found it difficult to watch him struggle on the dance floor. I agree that it was mostly because I really wanted him to outlast Kate (and Jake). Oh well, at least he didn't outstay his welcome.
