Season 10 Speculation/Spoilers

Nancy and Jewel. Nancy was originally paired with Tony, and blew her knee out just a week before the premiere. I think she officially had to drop out just days before the premiere, as Melissa (who came in as a replacement) had just 2 days to practice. I remember how crushed they looked sitting on the sidelines, and in the pre-show rehearsal clips she and Tony seemed to get along really well. Jewel I'm not crazy about, but I'd love to see Nancy get another shot. I'm not really a big AH viewer, but I'm bummed Nancy is leaving

Thanks for refreshing my memory. I thought she had some kind of injury.
I don't watch AH because Billy Bush really annoys me.
I read online that Nancy had already left AH, so I hope she makes it onto DWTS.
She co hosted the Rose Parade this year with Al Roker, so she must still be in NBC's employ.

That would be interesting! It would take some heat off Gilles' supposedly being famous only for exposing his bits in a movie. Simon has actually appeared in gay porn vids!

I admit I never heard of the guy, and judging from his tweet when I found out what he was famous for (and what got him fired as an MTV VJ) I guess I wasn't surrpised that he said that If he is cast, I hope he's not a complete a*****e about it. Steve-O showed you could literally be billed as a jackass, and while behind the scenes reports said he didn't really change, he had respect for Lacey and the competiton. With my luck this guy will get Edyta or Anna T. Of course he could just be saying that he's in talks with the network. If they're going for bigger names this season, I'm not sure he'd qualify

ABC announced today that the 10th season of DWTS will be starting March 22nd (of course with the usual action packed two hours). No elimination the first week, so all of the couples will get to perform two dances before one gets the boot. Which I give a big because I think first night jitters and maybe just bad luck getting a bad dance does someone in before they can start. There will be a smaller cast, and according to an article I posted below, there may only be 11-12 couples (?!) Kind of sucks because a lot of pros will be getting the boot, and likely the ones I like least will still be around But I guess they really did learn their lesson from over-bloating the cast last time. I've always thought 10-12 couples was ideal. I just hope it's an even split, and not 7 males and 5 females or something like that.

The OK article is pretty much the same as the Seattle PI one, except it says that the twice a year format will continue to stay and that a few stars have already been cast. No announcement on when the official cast reveal is. Very few spoilers have come out so far. Designer Betsey Johnson turned them down. Jennifer Grey was in talks with the producers to do the show. Genie Francis and her husband Jonathan Frakes were trying to get their foot in the door via their friend and our beloved host, Tom. Latoya and/or Jermaine Jackson were spill over rumors from last season. And then the Simon Rex guy. Hopefully some other spoilers get better or these are some really bad red herrings. With fewer couples it'll be harder to tune in for people like the above (except Genie and Jonathan, I like them )

Anyone want to guess, if the above is correct, what pros we won't be seeing back next season? My first 3 guesses would be Anna D., Alec, and Jonathan. I'm iffy on Louis and Edyta. Lacey, Dmitry, Derek, Mark, Maks, Chelsie, and Cheryl are probably golden to stay.

Alec and Anna D are my guesses for not coming back. I'm sure Maks, Derek, Mark, and Cheryl will be back, and most likely Kym, Chelsie, Lacey, and Tony. I would like to see Anna T and Louis in the cast, but I know it probably won't happen.

I doubt that Edyta will be gone.
She has a very strong fan base.
I do hope there will be fewer contestants. Way too many last season to focus in on.

Alec and Anna D are my guesses for not coming back. I'm sure Maks, Derek, Mark, and Cheryl will be back, and most likely Kym, Chelsie, Lacey, and Tony. I would like to see Anna T and Louis in the cast, but I know it probably won't happen.

If it's 6 males, then we'll probably see Maks, Derek, Mark, and Dmitry. Since Tony is a pretty solid fixture on the show and next to Edyta is the longest running pro on there, I would have a hard time believing they wouldn't bring him back. Back last year mentioned he had some independent movie projects in the works. So I guess if he isn't back I'm going to assume it's likely because he was doing something else. Louis had always been a favorite and missed pro when he wasn't around. After this season with Kelly, he might have gained momentum and shown the show that hey, he can do wonders with someone not considered to be a contender and return to his glory days of placing high. Though I don't think the show will care since his name isn't Maks, Derek, Mark, or Dmitry But he could get in ahead of Jonathan, unless the show wants him to be around to pair him with another surefire first boot. I also think Anna T. kind of made herself a favorite this season with Chuck, and filling in for Mark and Lacey. She too has been a sentimental favorite that many online anyway wished would return. I think Lacey, Cheryl, Chelsie, and then probably Karina, Kym and Edyta will round out the ladies. Derek would be okay by me in sticking around if they finally gave him a partner that would be a challenge in all elements. Mark I wouldn't miss in the least but I guess with one they have to have the other. I just hope Maks gets a contender that keeps him around longer than 4 weeks.

Another potential rumor, former Boy Meets World star Danielle Fishel has said she'd love to do the show and be paired with, you guessed it, Maks.

I don't think anyone would miss Mark, except Derek. But since Derek is a sure thing and (I don't know this, but I'm guessing) he probably won't do the show without Mark, then Mark is a sure thing too.

That's what I mean. While I think their is a bias/favoritism towards the Hough/Ballas crew, when I really think about it I think it mostly applies to Derek. Julianne had Helio who the judges sometimes unfairly criticized for no real reason other than them wanting a female winner that year. Then she got Adam Corrala, and they didn't sugarcoat Cody or Chuck like they have some of Derek's partners. Mark has gotten two mediocre and semi-mediocre partners in Kim and Melissa. I don't like Mark more because he seems to be such a sore loser and has sour grapes when he doesn't get a Kristi Yamaguchi or gets 10s for showing up. Derek mentioned last season he blew it for the Hough/Ballas trio not getting into the finals, but I don't know if he realized that many online seemed happy to have a Hough/Ballas free finale. Given Joanna's remarks I'm really glad they didn't make it.

Pure DWTS has posted some more possible cast rumors, though not many: Latoya Jackson (already mentioned), Brandy and her brother Ray-J (who were rumored last season as well so they just might be out there), Linda Carter (would love this one!), and Jennifer Grey (again already rumored-given that she supposedly was in talks with DWTS producers I'd bet she'll be on).
