If Kurt was last in raw numbers and last in judges scores, how in the world did he not get sent home? Audrina had 32 points for the night and Kurt 22. That makes no sense! He must have gotten a truck load of votes on line & texting.

I didn't get to vote online because my computer was on the outs and I had to go purchase a new one. Can't do without my best friend!

This week's scores on DialIdol shows Jennifer had 37.13, Bristol 33.16, Rick 31.1, Kurt 31.03, Brandy 26.92, Kyle 20.81, and Audrina was last with 19.84.

Those were the DWTS scores which to my understanding are DI's combined judges' scores and calls. If you look at the raw scores option, Kurt is last.

It is hard to tell which is the best to use as both have given us the one who goes out, and then sometimes it is neither, but it will be very close which is why I say DI while not accurate is still an indicator nonetheless.

Keep in mind that DialIdol only measures phone calls and does not take into account online votes or text votes.

And it would be my assumption that the largest block of voters vote by texting or going online - since the phone lines are only open for a short time. Whereas one can vote online until noon the next day (noon Pacific time I assume) not sure about the time frame for texting.

That assumption makes common sense, but isn't it strange between the raw scores and the DWTS scores how close DI is getting in just that short time?

ironcat: We may be really headed for a trainwreck, particularly if Bristol makes it all the way to the finale, which I have suspected to be a distinct possibility once I learned about the right wing "get out the vote" campaign for her going on.
I haven't heard about the get out the vote campaign for Bristol. I'm sure it's possible, Audrina should never have gone before Bristol, Kyle, Kurt or Rick, for that matter. DWTS is starting to remind me of last season (if nothing changes) Bristol will be in the final three like Kelly was last year. Kelly used sympathy and her famous father to get to the top, she was every bit as bad a dancer as Bristol. Kelly didn't deserve to be in the final three no more than Bristol does. No one will ever convince me this show is on the up and up.

What is the point anymore, whomever Derek is with, he is getting the most votes period. They need to just have him choreograph the pros dances, and be a judge or something because it is way too unfair to have him compete anymore.

I, too, think Audrina should not have gone; however, it was NOT the judges' vote that took Audrina out as she still had a fairly high judges' score. Unfortunately, Audrina did not have a high fan vote according to DI. Now, that could have been influenced by the judges' unnecessarily harsh remarks.

The bottom line is that DI helps us get an idea of what the fans are thinking. In her case, it may be that the fans may have believed she danced well, but they just wanted to vote for someone else.
It's like anything else, though, where we get a vote...you vote for what you want, and the chips fall as they will. Sometimes the results are good, and well.....

But this is what confuses me unless I'm not understanding how they combine the judges scores and the calls. Kurt was at the bottom of th ejudges scores and at the bottom of the raw scores for calls. So how does that get him to 4 from last on the Dialdol DWTS frontpage scores? I realize Kurt could have had a huge text & online votes but that's not accounted for in the DialDol DWTS combined score. So, why didn't Kurt come in last and how did he beat audrina whose raw score was 3rd from last and was 2nd from top in judges score? Confusing on how Dialdol's socres work between raw scores and their combined score.

DialIdol measures only the phone calls made to DialIdol, not actual votes to the show itself. They have a formula (obliquely explained on their site as an algorithm) for calculating votes coming from different time zones at different times and how often the caller encounters a busy signal. It does not take into account either text or internet voting, nor account for "power voting" from organized groups.
