Gilles Marini & Cheryl Burke - Season 8

I was wondering about this. The celeb dancers must be entirely comfortable having a relative stranger know and touch their bodies in places most of us wouldn't be comfortable with. But that's just the way it is. I even wondered about Shawn, at 17. How could she not have a tiny crush on Mark? And if I were single, dancing with a married man like that, I don't know if I could do it. To be THAT close to someone. Kudos to these guys and girls for making it seem so real. None of them seems to be nervous about it at all. Maybe they talk about it at first and it helps.

Gilles said he was falling in love with Cheryl - in a dance way. I thought that was so cute! His wife sits in the audience and beams with pride, and he ALWAYS looks over at her. He is a better actor than some ever knew, and as Andiemywestie said, because she's married to an Italian and knows more about European men that most of us, that's just the way he is! I have no problem with that!

My son-in-law's entire family still lives within two hours of Rome. He is as Italian/European as they come and while he is charming, he is not anywhere near as effusive and free with the affections, etc., as Gilles. Also, while he admits that Europeans are much more open about sexual matters than we are here in America, I have never known my s-i-l to pose nude. He has 3 brothers (in Italy), and I don't know of any activities of that type nature in which they have been involved either.
Part of that is just Gilles and has nothing to do with the fact that he is European. IMO

Where did Gilles pose nude? He was in a movie with nude scenes which have been captured by who knows how many people around the world but actually to have posed nude? Gilles has openly stated his ethnicity is his personalty and how he lives. Your sil no doubt makes you proud as Gilles makes his in laws proud.

I don't see the difference in posing nude and being in a movie nude. Nude is nude.

I'm pretty sure I see a big difference between the two, but I need some help here.
Is the nude scene we're talking about in SATC where Gilles is in the shower and they show his torso and butt (no frontal nudity)?
If that's all there was, even calling it "posing nude" is a stretch.

I guess if people can criticize Melissa for doing swimsuit photos, it's fair game to talk about Gilles doing a nude scene in a movie, but both are kind of silly to raise as issues in connection with DWTS.

Movies or Playboy...doesn't matter to me either. Many are comfortable being nude in front of others and make good money for it. Their choice.

I am european, live in London and visit various european countries several times a year. Italy at least twice yearly. I have hundreds of close friends from all over europe. Remember the US is one country, Europe has many countries and many different cultures. The french are very sensual. It's their way of life. They do not see it as sensual, but just being nice to others. Love is an art for the french.

On the other hand, the Italians are macho. A bit like Julianne's Chuck. They will not be found prancing around in tight trousers, twirling their hands etc, incase someone saw them and thought they were gay. They are men and do everything masculine to show they are men.

I wrote this earlier. Recently I heard a french man say this to his 10 year old son, When you pass a woman on the street, look deeply into her eyes and smile. If she is young and beautiful, you will be happy. If she is not young and beautiful, she will be happy. C'est tout dire

Great example. Playboy nudity for instance is MUCH more graphic, unless it's changed in the last ten years since I've seen a Playboy, lol. That's fine, if that's what the girl wants to do, but I see a big difference. I would assume that the actor would feel that in a movie the CHARACTER is nude, not the person.

I also know several people who have been to nude vacation resorts, but would never pose nude in a magazine such as Playboy.
