Lil Kim & Derek Hough - Season 8

I caught them on Regis/Kelly this morning and it was really sweet.

Derek spent most of his time saying how great Kim was--how hard she worked and how good she was.

I have found his supportive attitude towards Kim--including his body language when with her--this entire season to be very inspiring.

btw--Kim danced with Regis and Derek danced with Kelly for a few minutes--it's amazing how good Derek made Kelly look as a dancer--he seems to have a talent for doing that for his partners.


What a guy.


And Lil Kim was so sweet with Regis.

Derek/Kim will stay in my memory as one of my all-time fave couples--their Tango solo during the team dance is firmly locked in my memory.

And their Paso--complete with those lyrics--"Womanizer"--is up there--IMO--with Cheryl/Drew's and Julianne/Apolo's Pasos--which I consider to be the creme de la creme of the DWTS performances.

I loved their Paso too. It went great with that song.
My favorite Paso, & my top favorite of all dances on this show is Max & Mel B. I even remember her outfit.
It's going to take a lot to top that one.

Even thought Max and Mel B were not my favorites, I have to agree. Their paso was the best of the nest.

I agree. She's had some time to move forward with her life and it looks like she is doing a great job with that. It truly was inspiring to see her enthusiasm for doing the dances right and how she worked so well with Derek. I am one of the ones that really likes and appreciates Derek. He is very talented and he is a great teacher. I think much better than Maks and Dimitri. It takes a love for other people, patience, dedication and a bit of great cheerleading to be a "good" teacher. I'm sorry I missed them on Regis that would have been fun. Derek has seemed to fall in love a bit with all his "stars". He is an amazing dancer, he moves so fast. I often wonder if these people are in great pain especially the ones that are getting a little older what they do looks like it would kill your joints in your legs and feet and especially in their back.

My feeling is by not putting Lil'Kim in the b2 last week, but being the first to be called, gave a wrong impression that she was very safe due to the number of votes received. They put Melissa in b2 giving the impression she had fewer votes as well. Actually when Chuck commented on the votes Melissa had, I think he was trying to let the viewers know that she she had very many people voting for her. After the issue with Jewel comments, some people decided they will not vote for Ty, which may have prompted many others to vote for him.

On the other hand, I fear for Gilles and think he might go next or in 3rd place. He was called first this week, which gives a false impression that he has the most votes. If Shawn is first, Gilles second and Melissa third, I will believe tptb do not manipulate the voting. If not, as we guessed, Kim had to go because she was a threat. I feel it may have been decided the week before. Even before all the dancing.

I'm not going to miss Kim's shrieks. But watching last week's episode again, future couples take note. If they keep the 15 second solo, use Kim as an example. She did a real solo, not just standing there smiling, waving a cape, shaking her fanny in front of the judges, or moon walking (though I'll give Gilles an E for effort).

Watching LK and DH dance their "freestyle" jive last night made me realize that, even with no lifts, this was the best freestyle in season 8.

Absolutely!! I didn't realize how much I missed watching her dance, til they did that number again.
