I really thought Jake would be doing a song from Top Gun because of the pilot connection. Who is dancing to The Breakfast Club song?

Seriously when is Kate even practicing with the media tour? And truth is she doesn't even need to because she won't cut her loose this week anyway.

Really good article, Anders. I do think DWTS hurt her image more than helped it. It's also nice to see someone reporting on how many of us feel. TY to Karalott as well for posting her article. Good info.

I might guess Evan/Anna, just because a well known song from the movie is Don't You Forget About Me. Perfect for a rumba, at least for this show.

And we already know the drill with Kate: she's going to go in the last half of the show, will get no lower than a 5, the judges will unclench their teeth and compliment her and take their frustration out on someone else, and be forced to score another deserving couple(s) in time with Kate so she doesn't get her feelings hurt and be all alone at the end of the leadboard. Actually, I think they may paint this as Kate's best week and really hype her up as being the second coming of Ginger Rogers. On Tuesday we'll see her smiling without a care in the world as she tries to show the world the new and improved Kate, who isn't the absentee demon of a mother that everyone makes her out to me. Oh, and she hasn't practiced, but feel sorry for her anyway. And of course, she'll be the last one announced safe. My prediction for this week's elimination is Niecy, Jake, or a "shocker" and Erin.

It's funny because she was on Leno basically admitting she liked Tony dragging her around and she has also admitted she doesn't practice much so the judges applauding that is absurd. Not sure however how much say they really have where she is concerned. I can't imagine they wouldn't be giving her 2s and 3s if left to their own devices. I'm sure bloated scores and praise for her elegance barf on the way this week along with score bunching for a few of the others trying to make it seem like less of a mockery when she stays once again. This time I'm going in knowing she's 100% safe and not even going to give myself hope.

Maybe the show will throw us for a loop and announce her safe first. Now I can see why she and Tony look so much more relaxed and at ease during the elimination process than everyone else. Even Derek and Anna, who have the two best partners, dance wise, look terrified. I think if Kate were to be eliminated, if all is well and straight with the voting process, they'd give her the heads up in advance. This week and last there really wasn't even any over-excitement when she was announced safe on her and Tony's part. For someone that's as bad a dancer as she is, either she's too overconfident or knows she's not going anywhere. The judges slamming her when they're not on the show (at least Bruno) but doing a 180 when critiquing her, on top of the vague answers by the pros and celebs-okay, it's possible they're just tired of being asked and know all the drama surrounding her, and if they gave a positive answer no one would believe it. But I think it's all telling. This week, if the show sticks to format, count on Evan being one of the first, and Pamela and Kate being one of the last performers. If Kate stays, still predicting a Niecy, Jake, or Erin elimination

So I don't think we have any official song choices and not all the movie themes for the couples, but here's what we have so far for Movie Night (I wonder if this is the end of theme weeks-what's next?)

By Kate being announced early everyone can groan and then the drama will be what deserving dancer she takes out next. I'm over it. It's boring at this point 4 weeks in. I'm praying it's coming to an end within the next few weeks. I just can't imagine her doing group dances and 2 a week when she can barely manage 1.

I'm sure Pam and Kate will go late again as usual. I feel bad for the other celebs and pros who have never been late or had the pimp spot. It plays into Kate's entitlement but I can't put her going late on anyone but DWTS. I just feel sad that the others are almost oversights in a way this season. And while Kate made a lot of money from this show it sure didn't help her overall public image. She went down some again.

Hard to say who will go. Could be Niecy because she's weakest woman after Kate. I think Erin will be okay for a few more weeks. Could be Jake but I think they might want to keep a man another week so it isn't 5-2 next week. If he goes the following it would be 4-2 for group dances. If Kate went by some miracle it could be 3-3. The latest I see Kate going is F5 and my prayer is her lack of practicing and comment on Behar indicate this is all in her contract and she knows exactly when she will be exiting the show. I think she knows she's safe this week and doesn't even care to practice because it's pretty much irrelevent. Of course if she had a shred of pride she would want to deal well for her partner but it's always about Kate.

Those are the same dances and songs I read too, Karalott. Maybe more will leak early Monday.

If Kate makes it to the final 6, when they do the team dances, it will really be a travesty, and I hope they're ready for a lot of outraged fans. The two other couples, who have to dance on her team, will be penalized in their scores because Kate's performance will bring the whole routine down with her. ABC might think keeping her around for a while is helping ratings (and maybe it is), but if she ends up affecting the overall outcome of the show by knocking out a frontrunner unlucky enough to be grouped with her, they may end up screwing themselves with the longtime fans.

I guess they aren't allowed to be in public where Kate is concerned. When Master P was on the show, I remember his last week in the competition he got called out for practicing a total of just 20 some odd hours in the whole show. Of course everyone else had practiced way more than that in a week. It has to be in her contract. Len told loveable and tried so hard Ty Murray it was time for him to hit the road week 7/8 because he was technically the worst dancer left. They told people to stop voting for Master P because it wasn't fair to anyone left, including himself, and brought out the 2 paddles. Kate is the worst left, and in a way did outlast 2 semi better dancers in Shannen and Aiden. They weren't on the level as the others so I guess it can be understood. I do want to see the judges try and stay happy if she outlasts one of their favorites. It's not like the show cares, they want ratings. It'll be unfair if she makes it to team dance week, and I cringe to even see her in the group dance (she may make Susan Lucci doing hip hop look like the queen). But again, the show wants ratings. It's all over how they're beating Idol, once the king of the winter/spring ratings that crushed everything in its path.

I do wonder if Kate's time is coming, though. She's gotten her media blitz for her book to help the show, is getting a redemption edit, coming across with a better attitude/image like she's actually learning, the judges are being forced to actually say her dancing is looking better, and this week they'll be showing her at her book signing so she can get free promotion there.

Sort of off topic of DWTS, but I was reading up on our British counterpart, Strictly Come Dancing, because of all the controversy they faced last year and wondered where they stood with things. Strictly only airs in the falls over there, and goes head to head with The X-Factor (I don't think they used to but apparently British producers are as smart as American producers when ruining a good ratings thing). Anyway, SCD lost miserably lost year in the ratings and had some other issues. One of the reports I read said they're axing a bunch of their pros and hope to recruit more American dancers to revamp their series. It makes me wonder if those who might be in the off season of DWTS in the fall (as I really expect Kym, Dmitry, Karina, and Lacey at least to be back) if some of our pros might head over there. I'm not entirely sure their DWTS would allow it, though. Some of the rumored pros said to be getting the ax over there I like and wouldn't mind seeing on our version
