Hmm, well, as far as I know, no one's dropped out, and Jonathan is with Macy (confirmed somewhere) and Kathy confirmed she was with Tony. Kathy put on her twitter to watch GMA on Aug. 24th to catch he reveals of the partners. Maybe because they all get leaked out ahead of time GMA said to heck with it

I've read on other news sources since then that confirms the partners for season 9. Kathy IS with Tony and Macy IS with Jonathan as was reported. I was really ticked because I got up so early and sat through 2 hours of GMA for nothing. I think you are probably right about GMA saying to heck with it since they had already been leaked, but most of America doesn't sleuth out the partners like they do on FORT, so it would be news to them.

I read on Melissa Rycroft's twitter yesterday "Packing....we're off to LA again tomorrow." I wonder what she is going back to LA for? I wonder if she has a job out there because her fiance has been working in Austin, but she tweeted the other day that he would be home "for good" soon. Maybe she is going out there to see friends, but it makes you wonder. She was just out there in July, because there were photos of her and Tony at some event (casual dress), I can't remember the name of the foundation. I feel sure she'll get to meet Tony's new partner, Kathy, while she is there since she said she & Tye talked to Tony Friday.

Does Dancing With the Stars Have It Out for Some of the Pros?

So last week Dancing With the Stars revealed their season 9 cast, and now they've released the info about which celeb gets partnered with which dancer. Is it bad that I feel for some of these dancers? Even Cheryl Burke, who is stuck with Tom DeLay, who likely won't take her to the finals like Gilles did last season. But while there's a lot of give and take, and I'm sure that producers spend minutes hours figuring out who to pair up with whom, it does seem like certain dancers get the short-shrift more often than not.

Take Edyta Sliwinska. She's been on this show for all the seasons, and she's never won. She came close with Jason Taylor, but is usually ousted in the middle of the pack. Not only did she have the unlucky break of being previously partnered with perma-orange George Hamilton, now she's got his smarmy looking son Ashley to contend with this season. That just doesn't seem fair, which alone wouldn't have caught my attention, but Jonathan Roberts got paired with Macy Gray. He's never won, and has had the misfortune of being eliminated first two times. I think he might have a three-peat on his hands, but probably not the kind he wants... unless he likes getting kicked off early. Anything's possible.

Tony Dovolani has pulled the "older lady" card again (he also danced with Jane Seymour, Susan Lucci and was initially paired with Nancy O'Dell until she injured herself and Tony landed Bachelor dumpee Melissa Rycroft) with Kathy Ireland. Not that she's ancient, but at 46, she's the oldest female competitor this season. She may end up being a powerhouse, but it seems unlikely that he'll make it to the finals again this season like he did with Melissa last year.

Louis Van Amstel got the oddball/reality contestant this season, per usual. In the past he's danced with Lisa Rinna, Trista Sutter, Monique Coleman (from High School Musical) and Priscilla Presley, and now he's got Kelly Osbourne. He just seems to be the pro who winds up with the person they have no idea what to do with. He may be off quickly, which hopefully means more choreography from him on So You Think You Can Dance: The Fall Edition.

Speaking of which, adorable Chelsie Hightower, who got her start on SYTYCD, is back for her sophomore season, and dancing with another unknown. Last year she got rodeo clown cowboy Ty Murray, who had a very limited fan base. This year she's got Louie Vito who is a snowboarder and relatively new face to those who don't obsess over the X-games.

I'm not necessarily a conspiracy theorist, but it certainly does seem to me that some celebs get better prospects. Then again Karina landed the Woz last year, and at least got Aaron Carter this year, who is recognizable and may at least have dance experience with music videos. Maybe it's just a matter of paying dues from season to season, or sheer luck of the draw, but whatever the case, I really do pity Edyta this year.

I didn't realize that Kathy Ireland was 46, I thought she was 41. That article says she is the oldest female this season. I just hope she turns out to be a young 46.

Just In! 'Dancing With The Stars' Ballroom Pics!

Some observations:

Kathy/Tony look amazing. Out of all the women, who cares if she's the oldest on the ladies side, I could only wish to look like that when I'm in my 40's. Mark/Lacey are also looking pretty good. Hopefully both couples surprise everyone. I haven't heard much on Kathy, but every site I go to, people say keep an eye on Mark. Michael/Anna D. are looking good as well. I'm glad she got someone with potential, or at least a built in fan base, as I'd like to see her be able to stick around. Dmitry/Mya, Kym/Donny, and Kellie/Louis (surprised at that one) round out my favorites, at least from the pics. Louie (the athlete) looks like a big old jock but I'm still hopeful for his and Chelsie's chances. This is the first time I've seen Macy/Jonathan together. I wonder how off some of these heights are going to be. I'm thrilled Alec and Anna T. are back but something about Natalie/Alec don't jump out at me. Hopefully they prove me wrong.

And then the bad (or sort of bad): Aaron certainly lost his cutesy teen idol looks. Him and Karina just look...odd together. Karina isn't that old but she comes off looking like his mother. And he still looks like he just got out of bed. Tom/Cheryl look like the odd couple. A nice odd couple, but these are two I'm curious to see dance and how it'll come off. Anytime I see Joanna Krupa I feel like hitting something. I don't know if I can stand all season with her around. And being paired with Derek on top of it is like a double whammy. On that note, I'm resigned to having to watch Mark mug and maniac dance for awhile, considering who he is partner is, but those two just bug. I hope an early surprise ouster or some of the lesser known underdogs doing better lead to them getting the boot. I'm sure Melissa is finally happy to be cast after 9 seasons. If Mark or Derek wins this season the others pros should just stay home until Julianne, Mark, and Derek are off the show for good. Edyta looks stunning as usual, but again, something about Ashley just looks totally out of place. I don't think he'll be quite as successful as his pop was, but they better give Edyta a contender next season is all I can say. She went from 2nd place with Jason to Jeffrey Ross to LT and now Ashley. Maks, please grow your hair back out.

Given some of the changes and dances we've heard about, I'm hoping this season doesn't turn out to be a train wreck. I read elsewhere that Tom's favorite dance is the two step, so I'm betting that's why they added that. Can't they take a page from SCD in this regard and add dances like they have? I'd love to see them finally add American Smooth.

I look for posture. Kathy Ireland may be very beautiful, but she's got terrible dance posture. The ones who look dance ready are Mya, Debi, Mark, Aaron, Michael, Joanna, Donny. Tom looks like he needs to work on his dance position. Natalie is very tight in the shoulders, Melissa has rounded shoulders... Ashely has very poor posture. Chuck will really need to work on gracefulness, the others are sort of middle of the pack IMO.

Dancing With the Stars' real-life sweethearts Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy are waltzing their way into the Emmys.

A source exclusively reveals that the husband-and-wife-to-be (they got engaged on New Year's Eve) will be performing during the big awards show Sept. 20.

I know exactly what they'll be doing, but I think I'm gonna hold off on telling ya too much so you can be surprised. I promise, however, it's going to be fun.

The two have already shown us what kind of fancy footwork they could get themselves into...

Karina and Maksim performed together two years ago at the ALMA Awards and most recently did a stint starring on Broadway in the Latin and ballroom dance show Burn the Floor.

Looks like dance is going to be a big part of the television industry's biggest night of the year. First-time host Neil Patrick Harris convinced producers to hire Tabitha and Napoleon from So You Think You Can Dance to work on the show.

"I love the So You Think You Can Dance show," Harris recently told Entertainment Weekly. "I think it's some of the best hours on TV...So I pitched bringing back some sort of dance element to the awards show, which had been done away with because it seemed tepid."

The 61st Annual Primetime Emmys will broadcast live on CBS from the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles.

Melissa Rycroft has posted a link to an online vote for the best Breakthrough Performance to be awarded at the Emmys on 9/20.

There are 15 performances you can choose from. One is of the After The Final Rose with Melissa and Jason from The Bachelor where Jason breaks up with her and there is one of Melissa for her premiere performance on DWTS.

Melissa's twitter indicated that she was upset about someone leaking to the media her wedding plans. Well, I picked up my US Weekly that came in the mail today and on the cover it has a small photo of Melissa with the headline WEDDING DETAILS! I post part of it for you.

SAVE THE DATE! US has learned that Melissa Rycroft is set to tie the knot with her insurance-agent beau, Tye Strickland, on December 12. And even with less than three months to go, the jilted former Bachelor contestant is decidedly laid-back about planning her nuptials. "We aren't doing much. I think small, we plan small," Rycroft, 26, who got engaged less than six months after being dumped in January by Bachelor Jason Mesnick, tells US. "But whether it's going to turn out the way we have it in our minds, I don't Know!" So what isn't likely to change? So far, the guest list---Bachelor costars Jillian Harris and Naomi Crespo have scored invites, as well as Rycroft's former Dancing With the Stars partner, Tony Dovolani---and the gift registry.

But the off-and-on couple of more than two years---who recently bought a house in the suburbs of Dallas --- aren't eager to have children right away. "I definitely want kids, but not any time soon. We want to put ourselves first for as long as we can. I want it to be us for as long as possible before we have some little twerp running around." she jokes. Tony's second movie role, though it's SyFy or whatever they call themselves now so it'll probably be corny I'm glad this show has opened up doors for these pros. Alec and Edyta have had some bit parts, and of course Julianne/Derek/Mark have their music, Maks/Karina are all over for their wedding and possible reality show.
