I saw that episode of The View when Sherri went after Maks. They were so funny together. Maks is the star of the show. I love everything about that guy.Originally Posted by karalott;3383042;

The Head of ABC Reality Programming indicated last week he was trying to get this done....glad to see he was able to...let's hope the Stars are to keep them goingOriginally Posted by ky-la;3383816;
The first step in getting the things you want out of life is this: decide what you want....Ben Stein
I can't get the links to post but on accesshollywood.com there's a video discussing Maks's ringer comments aimed at Melissa. Maks sums it up that he'll say what everyone is thinking but won't say and he's honest if he's asked. Except for some reason he doesn't seem to want to say anything about Chuck/Julianne's pairing but I guess that pretty much tells how he feels.
They asked Tony and Melissa and Tony didn't seem too pleased, telling Melissa not to answer and asking Maks what about Mel. Considering he and Maks are friends hopefully that doesn't cause any dents between them.
They interviewed Karina, who says it's not a fair playground, but Derek probably made the best point: "It's all what people want to see. A non dancer learning to dance or a dancer dance". They interviewed Chuck/Julianne, and I get the impression they may all feel the same way as Maks to some extent but just aren't coming right out and naming names. I noticed Derek's comment wasn't on the video on the site but was aired on the actual show, whereas Karina/Steve's comments were just on the website and not the show.
ETA: Of course all the news shows are talking about the injuries. They mentioned Steve-O would be back next week, but I'm curious what if he and Lacey wound up in the bottom 2 and had to do the dance off tonight?Would they just use previous performance footage of them?

Sounds like a lot of sour grapes coming from a guy who was paired with Mel B. He should have turned her away if he was really concerned and didn't. This year he doesn't have as good of a partner as Mel B was and that happens. Karina has also had some really good partners and maybe if she didn't have such a big puss on her face she would have gone further and/or won. She has Mario was was far from an amateur so they both sound like total hypocrites. Everyone should have to take their turn with the good and not so good dancers. Cheryl has prob gotten the best of the lot on the whole.
I'm so bored with this whole debate about whether or not it's fair that some of the stars have more "dance" experience than others. It sounds like an elementary school playground.
It's just like American Idol. On Idol, some people are more talanted than others. That's life in the big city! Heck, some idol contestants have even sung in bands (see Daughtry, Hicks) and cut albums before the show. But they weren't professionals and that is the point.
Neither Melissa nor any of the other stars are professional ballroom dancers. And it's not like there is some valuable dance contract waiting for the winner at the end. It's all for fun and entertainment, isn't it?
Part of the charm of the show for me is seeing how different people from different background and with different skill levels and abilities cope with the stress of learning ballroom dancing.
I'd much rather see the dancers (and stars) be honest even if it creates a little backlash than tip toe around the question for fear of creating backlash and creating drama. It could just be they're upset that the couples who've been there from the beginning lost their thunder to two last minute replacements. And the pros probably know how this operates by now when it comes to their favorites so that could be the other issues. Regardless, I agree that the argument gets old but I'd rather see the non dancer learn to dance than a dancer dance. That's what the pros are for. On that note, I never would have guessed Melissa had dance experience because I don't think she's spectacular. Good, but not great.
Melissa is going to be on Jimmy Kimmel tonight (Friday)!![]()
The Bachelor/Bachelorette series is a soap opera with unskilled actors, bad writing, and beautiful locations...it even edits the real moon!
I saw that and am looking forward to it but I was wondering if this is unusual or not. I'm accustomed to seeing the eliminated contestants on JK's Tuesday show but am not up on other appearances. Did the other "stars" do the talk show circuit prior to the season start and this is Melissa catching up due to her late addition to the lineup?Originally Posted by VelvetRed;3388448;
I'm curious about this too. Will Tony be there also? Don't their partners usually appear with them? I wonder how much of the interview will be Bachelor related vs. DWTS.Originally Posted by justsaying;3388490;
Shawn & Mark were on Ellen last week. And they danced.Originally Posted by justsaying;3388490;
A talk show appearance here & there during the season is not uncommon. Several pros & celebs also do radio interviews throughout the competition.
And since it doesn't look like Tony will be on the show with Mel, I'm guessing she'll probably be asked about the Bachelor just as much if not more than DWTS. This is where not doing media (other than Ellen) after the Bachelor finale is coming back to bite her in the butt. lol
