Next Tuesday's results show will also give us the cast of Skating with the Stars. We've already had the scoop on the next Bachelor. And it's election night in the USA. Do you suppose they'll announce the winners on the dance stage?
They might as well. I know I should care about the upcoming elections, but I'm casting my vote and knowing that nothing's going to change, bickering and divided lines will continue to conquer Washington, and I can get a few months of peace before the negative ad attacks start up again for the 2012 election. I can't wait I'm more worried whether Bristol will finally get sent packing or someone better gets kicked off. It would certainly give out wonderful recappers a lot to sort through for their weekly write ups Skating with the Stars has me curious. I may actually tune in. Maybe Melissa will just be in the audience and, since she's a bachelor alumni, she'll get more time in the spotlight. She helped announce the season 10 cast, and for what reason I don't know. Just like I didn't get her coming back season 9 (?) to dance with the Bee Gees. They hyped it up and she was onstage for what, 2 seconds?

The dances for this week are:

    Brandy/Maks: Foxtrot
    Rick/Cheryl: Quick step
    Kurt/Anna: Tango
    Bristol/Mark: Viennese Waltz

Still unknown is Jennifer and Kyle. If it's true that each couple has to perform an actual iconic dance, I pitty whoever gets Gilles. I'm guessing Kurt or Jennifer (since she could technically pull it off; Kurt would dragged through the ringer, but hopefully the guest judges put the 3 stooges in their place if they get out of hand). Since Bristol got the Kelly Osbourne comparision, I'm betting she'll get Kelly's VW. So I'm expecting more overscoring/praise for her. Helio had the quick step that Rick might mimic, unless they give Cheryl one of her former routines she already choreographed. Doing Helio's banana man would fit in with the judges loving him up even more, overscoring him, and Rick being able to clomp around the floor and get away with it (wonder if he'd try to kiss Cheryl at the end like Helio did to Julianne?)

Thanx, karalott, for the SWTS info.
The Bachelor/Bachelorette series is a soap opera with unskilled actors, bad writing, and beautiful locations...it even edits the real moon!

Knowing they're going to "showcase" the out-of-tune warblings of Ms. Taylor Swift (face it, the girl can't carry a tune in a bucket; especially not in a live performance) adds another "ick" factor to the results show next week.

You'd have thought they'd want the 200th show to be special, not a debacle....

    Maybe they'll have her lip-sync.

In all fairness, while her vocals are not the best, I do give her credit for some amazing songs and the fact that she's a pretty good role model. And, for the age of 20, I think she presents herself very well. I think she's a good choice actually.

I agree. She's not my personal choice, but considering some of the other young "talents" in Hollywood and entertainment, she's talented and has a good head on her shoulders. I loved her when she performed Love Story with Jonathan/Anna, Maks/Edyta, and I think Louis/Cheryl back last season (or season 9). Of course that's some of my favorite pro combos there. Doesn't sound like the 200th episode is going to be anything special, except I'll get to see Mel, Kelly, Emmitt, Drew, and Gilles

According to Rick, the team dances (both sides doing cha cha) are doing songs from either Kristi or Apolo's dances (Team Kristi is dancing to her song she did for her freestyle, Working Day and Night). If Team Apolo dances to his freestyle song, Bust A Move, I'd say they got the short end of the stick. Maybe they really are pushing to get Kurt out this week and not Bristol, because under this scenario, even with Jennifer and Brandy, I can see the judges (particularly CA) going crazy for Kristi's side, not only because of the song and energy, but for the couples. She's more into that style. So they can all get away with bad dancing but having high energy. And Mark's already choreographed to that exact same song. I won't be surprised if it's a reprise of his freestyle in choreography. Here's hoping if this keeps Bristol around another week, people see through the manipulation (actually hopefully people see through the manipulation regardless).

Not that I'm hoping Kurt suffers elimination as a result of the manipulation and the "Save Bristol At All Costs" game this week (because I am not), but wouldn't it be funny if the producers little plan as we imagine it goes horribly wrong?

How funny would it be if they had Bristol/Rick/Kyle safe, and Jennifer/Brandy/Kurt up for possible elimination - and JENNIFER was the one to accidently get eliminated? They would be banking on both Jennifer and Brandy to have big enough fan bases that Kurt got the boot, but in reality, I believe Kurt has a HUGE fan base. I could also see him picking up some of the ultra-conservative fan base from Bristol this week if she was announced "off limits".

Boy oh boy, if the publically announced "Chosen One" ended up getting booted, I think Bristol would be out on her ear due to massive manipulation the next week. Or - horrors - would then become the "Chosen One Plan B".

I fully believe that if Team Apolo is up for elimination, it will NOT be Kurt going home, and most probably will be Brandy, unless the point differential between her and Kurt is tremendous (15 to 20 points or more). I think her fanbase is considerably smaller than the other two, and I also think the other two will pick up more fans from the winning team members than she will, as she seems to be more polarizing.

I am beginning to think that it may be Jennifer who goes home this week. I don't think that it will be due to any manipulation. I think that her health is creating problems for her and this week must have been especially difficult and tiring. While I am hoping for a Brandy win, I have nothing but admiration for Jennifer. It is just that I have been noticing her comments about not having a day off and needing to build more stamina.

Gosh I sure hope that doesn't happen.
I just marvel at how well Jennifer is doing considering how painful it must be for her.
