They'd have to really inflate Rick/Kyle/Bristol's individual dances and ding Brandy and Jennifer big time to get them in elimination. It's not fair no matter who comes out on the bottom.

The wording in the People article says that the winning team is free from elimination - so the 3 folks on the losing team is who everyone will be voting for next week. I am beginning to wonder if it's a misprint - I wish ABC/DWTS would address it. This is pure manipulation.

I can't imagine the backlash to the viewers who have no idea this is coming. At least we are warned.

The reason we are warned is because we are watching the little bit of voter indicator that we do have - even though it isn't accurate. At least it is giving us a heads up on what has been going on behinds the scenes with our viewer votes.

I don't think it's a misprint, I think the "geniuses" at ABC figured out a way to manipulate who goes home and who they want to be safe without some of the fans realizing it, and within the legal parameters of the competition. I fully believe that Apolo and Kristi picked the teams with no producer intervention, but now the judges can have free reign with their scoring to target who they want to, since they know whose fanbases are strong and whose aren't. I still think that, since Bristol is the most controversial contestant, who, although she may have a lot of people power voting for her due to politics, probably has an equal number of people who would like to get rid of her due to politics, they are counting on those folks to throw all their votes to Kyle and Rick as a way of voting against Bristol. It's actually quite clever, and the intern who came up with the scheme (or scam) probably got a nice bonus.

I don't know. I think we are assuming that they want Bristol gone, but they haven't done anything up to this point to indicate that.

    1) Consistantly overscored - WAY overscored in fact. The gorilla dance. OY.
    2) NEVER has gone first.
    3) Got the encore last week for the MOST boring dance ever. Granted, she danced it well (for her), but it was subpar compared to her competition.

On the other hand, it appears to me that they are looking for Kurt to go next. I don't think they would have minded if he went this week instead of Audrina. They have consistantly nitpicked, and often give scores that cannot be explained when you compare him to the competition on a given night.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to have them manipulate the Bristol/Rick/Kyle team to win. We know they love Bristol and Rick at least.

I think they believe that if voters have to choose between Brandy/Jennifer/Kurt, that Brandy and Jennifer, with higher scores and their fanbases, plus them gaining votes from those that would normally vote for Bristol/Rick/Kyle, might win out over the judges giving Kurt really, really low scores. It could be done IF, and it's a big if, they can overcome his fanbase and any votes he picks up from the other team's fans. It's a gamble, but it's a good gamble. I don't think they would cry to lose Brandy either. The only way it backfires is if they lose Jennifer, which I don't see happening.

I could see this happening as Bristol/Rick/Kyle are more evenly matched than Jennifer/Brandy/Kurt. Kurt is good, but I don't know if he will look evenly matched compared to the ladies (and it's a cha cha). I think whatever Bristol/Rick/Kyle put out there will look more evenly matched - no one obviously, glaringly worse than the others (even though Bristol WILL be, but the judges will ignore it like always).

You could be right, and I guess we will have to see how they score things next week to know what their intent is. I agree that they have been generous to Bristol so far; they certainly wanted her to stay in the competition for several weeks, which she has. If her fan vote numbers are as huge as some suspect, there is no way they could get rid of her before now anyway, so no point in being nasty to her or lowballing her (ie scoring her accurately). But I don't think the producers want her to win the competition either or even come close, so this new voting structure might be a way of taking her out now, that the normal one wouldn't be able to (by rallying her detractors to consolidate their votes towards just two other competitors instead of five).

I have a feeling if Kristi's team wins, it will be Brandy going home, unless there is a huge differential between her score and Kurt's. I disagree that the producers wouldn't mind losing her; she is the only one left that can come anywhere close to Jennifer in terms of dancing. But I have seen a lot of Brandy-dislike, and I don't know how many votes she would garner from the Bristol/Kyle/Rick fans. I suspect Jennifer and Kurt will benefit more than she will from that setup.

However it goes down, this format clearly gives the judges and producers much more power to manipulate who goes home and who remains safe, regardless of fan voting.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Brandy leave if their team loses - she is the only one left who really would give Jennifer a run for the trophy - not that everyone else left is bad, just not as polished. But (as mentioned somewhere else) the strain of learning 2 dances every week has got to be wearing on Jennifer - and if I do say so myself, I think she was on something Monday night.

I agree - she must have been on some pretty heavy pain meds - she looked to me like she was flying.

I would have to see for myself if Team Kristi comes out on top. I think there's way too much of a backlash coming if that happens. Even with a weak link in Kurt, he's still a better dancer than Bristol, and not any worse than Rick and Kyle. Many thought he was undermarked this past week, and if viewers thought this was an attempt to oust him, it might cost Brandy. I know the judges love Bristol and Rick, but I have to think they're coming in on the losing end. Unless somehow both teams tie, but it'll be probably a point or two off. I just can't imagine Bristol/Rick/Kyle outdancing Jennifer/Brandy-not to mention I think Team Apolo has better choreographers in Derek/Maks/Anna than Team Kristi does in Cheryl/Mark/Lacey.

    ABC Medianet

"DANCING WITH THE STARS" -- 200th episode -- "Dancing with the Stars" celebrates its 200th episode with a spectacular two-hour night. The six remaining couples will each perform an iconic dance from the "Dancing with the Stars" history vault and compete in a team dance. Six former celebrities return as guest judges as they watch one of their iconic performances recreated on the dance floor. Helio Castroneves, Kelly Osbourne, Mel B, Drew Lachey, Giles Marini and Emmit Smith revisit the ballroom to act as a special 'fourth judge' in the dance competition. The second element of the show will be a team competition, and fan favorites and former Mirror Ball champions Apolo Anton Ono and Kristi Yamaguchi return as team captains, on "Dancing with the Stars," MONDAY, NOVEMBER 1 (8:00-10:01 p. m., ET).
I worry if they actually re-create the actual dances (not just using the song), there's going to be a lot of "that was better the the original" or worse "that was nothing like the original-it was horrible".

"DANCING WITH THE STARS THE RESULTS SHOW" -- 200th episode: Results Show -- The 200th episode celebration continues with a performance from multi-platinum music sensation Taylor Swift, famed rock icon Rod Stewart, and Macy's Stars of Dance features a performance by the cast of "Mary Poppins." The seventh couple to be eliminated this season will be sent home and The "Skating with the Stars" all-star cast will be revealed live on, "Dancing with the Stars the Results Show," TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 2 (8:00-9:30 p.m., ET).

My daughter just called out that she saw a commercial for next Monday and saw the ever-smiling face of Melissa. Isn't she expecting? Surely she won't be dancing, right? I wonder what she will be doing.

Next Tuesday's results show will also give us the cast of Skating with the Stars. We've already had the scoop on the next Bachelor. And it's election night in the USA. Do you suppose they'll announce the winners on the dance stage?
Stay tuned for "Dancing with the Dancers"!
