I'm praying the article is bad info because it's just horrendous and such an agenda if true. They can't even chance Jenn's side losing to try and get Kurt out because it could totally backfire and another contender would go this week. I wonder if this is how they get Bristol out. They might realize while Bristol gets a lot of votes many want her out and this is how they do it. If she doesn't go Kyle is gone. Totally unfair regardless.

If they don't explain how the teams were selected, and they really exempt the winning team from elimination, it will lead me to believe that Bristol's voting numbers are so high (due to the right wing mailing campaigns) that they have invented this strategy as the only way to get her off the show. Keep in mind that there will be no need to vote for anyone but Kyle, Rick or Bristol if they are the losing team next week. So probably the two guys will get a lot of votes from fans of the other 3 celebs who want to see Bristol gone. There is truly a method to the madness, however manipulated and blatantly unfair.

Exactly. If Jenn, Brandy, and Kurt fans all think Bristol should go she will. They just vote tons for Rick and Kyle and she's gone. And while I think she should have left weeks ago I hate this plan if true. If anyone thought show didn't work with an agenda where Audrina was concerned this should make it blatantly clear. They can't even chance Jenn's side losing because it could backfire and take out Jenn or Brandy and then show is a total joke.

I wonder if this is also a way to try and make Rick look like a stronger dancer than he is. I think Kyle would actually come out on top, but since the show loves Rick so much and seems intent on overpraising/scoring him every week, they may find a way to get rid of Bristol and say it was planned (not their fault, not manipulation at all, and the judges can give her all the glory and praise her dance won't deserve), and maybe try and show case Rick or Kyle.

I don't like Bristol, I wanted her gone weeks ago, but she doesn't deserve to go out like this. The show wanted her cast so badly for ratings and gossip, so they should have to deal with her fanbase. Of course maybe watercooler buzz asking if it was rigged is worth it for them, too This season has really lost me. I was already over it, but I'm tempted to skip the entire show on Monday.

The idea of putting the two highest scoring couples (over the season) on the same team is crazy. How can they even justfy it?

Reportedly, Apolo is taking part in the new Skating with the Stars on ABC. So a lot of people figure that's the tie in.

Makes sense (the tie-in). When will that air? I thought that was a concept that was dropped quite a while back. Has there been an official announcement?

So it will be even more difficult to find contestants with potential, and the lineup will be filled with ringers and those with (not so hidden) agendas. I will try to catch it because I love Apolo and figure skating/ice dancing.

There will be increased likelihood of injuries (compared to DWTS), so I guess they are going for the icewreck factor.

I guess we need a thread for that show.

Okay, I just read on Zap 2 It that Apolo and Kristi picked the teams themselves. The only thing I can think of is Kristi chose her old partner in a show of loyalty instead of going for a better celeb dancer. Also, it is being speculated that each celeb will be scored separately for their performance in the team dance and those scores will be combined to determine which team wins. That would be a little fairer as to which team wins immunity, especially if they continue to score Kurt way lower than everyone else and inflate Bristol's and Rick's scores. The whole thing still stinks though.

Being scored separately in the team dance does make it more fair. I'm still irked overall with the season. I don't have anything against Bristol, but she's past her expiration date.

In that case, they could try and make it even (I wonder-I wouldn't put it past them, to be honest), but I'm still expecting Jennifer, Brandy, and Kurt to come out on top. They'd have to really inflate Rick/Kyle/Bristol's individual dances and ding Brandy and Jennifer big time to get them in elimination. It's not fair no matter who comes out on the bottom.

I remembered they were going to announce the Skating with the Stars cast but couldn't remember when. I wonder if Kristi is having any involvement with the show or if she's there just because (I guess having the only 2 Olympians who are skaters would make sense). I've heard Apolo may be one of the celebs, and that he may be a judge/host. I'll be curious who they get as celebs, because they'd have to have pretty darn good skating experience to begin the show in a month, so I doubt we'll see any clunkers of the Kate variety. I do like Apolo, so he'd be worth tuning in for. VelvetRed, the SWTS premiere is November 22nd, the DWTS finale week. There's only 6 celebs taking part, so it seems like a filler until January at least. Since ABC doesn't have anything strong in the summer to fall back on, maybe that'll be it for them if it does well. I know it's popular overseas from what I've heard. FOX did Skating with Celebrities, which I didn't watch, but which lasted on season. I'm not really sure what the difference will be.

This whole team dance has me curious, ticked, and ready to tune it out. It seems like they could go for either Kurt or Bristol. The dance is the cha cha, and while Kyle and Bristol are the only ones to have danced that individually so far, I wouldn't call it an advantage. Closed hold dances have been stronger for Bristol, but her first cha cha was a lot of posing and standing there. I don't think she'll be able to get away with that in a team setting. I heard Kristi did in fact pick Bristol/Mark to be on her team. It makes me wonder how it went from there, because it still seems odd Brandy and Jennifer wound up on the same team. This is mirrored like season 7s trainwreck of Susan/Cody/Lance against Brooke/Maurice/Warren. If they wanted Kurt gone, they could undermark him and overmark Bristol/Rick/Kyle just enough to edge out Kurt's team. I wouldn't be surprised if they go overboard in saying how Bristol and Kyle have improved since week 1. But if this is their intent to get Bristol out, they must be confident that Rick and Kyle's fanbases will outdo hers. They see behind the scenes what the numbers are, maybe it's not as big as we're thinking.
