A rep for DWTS announced backstage that next week's competition will feature two teams, led by former DWTS champions. Contestants' scores will be added together, and the team with the higher score will be free from elimination. Apolo Ohno will lead Jennifer Grey, Brandy and Kurt Warner. And Kristi Yamaguchi will work with Palin, Rick Fox and Kyle Massey.
It will be nice to see Apolo again, so I'll probably record it. I jumped out of this season very early on.

Apparently Apolo has a book out, so that may be why he's doing the show. I don't know any details about it, but he's interesting so I may look into it.

His Paso Doble is still amongst my fave contestant dances ever on the show.

Rick this last week was safe in our indicating votes all the way around. Kyle was one step above Audrina, so I think with that set-up they are targeting Bristol and Kyle for elimination.

The only fair thing I see is that Kristi (with the weaker team) most probably will be the stronger choreographer, and that is a very big IF the pros stay out of it altogether.
I seriously doubt either Kristi or Apollo is choreographing anything; more likely they will be cheerleading and "inspiring" their team. I suspect it is more of a publicity stunt than anything else, since it will be the 200th episode, and they are making a big deal about all their past celeb alums.

Your assessment of how the teams were picked could be correct, but I am curious to see if any logical explanation is given, as it was last season. If not, it will increase suspicions that some producer manipulation was at play.

How in God's name do Jenn and Brandy end up on the same team? That's ridiculous no matter how show spins it. Grey having bad week is no excuse because she is still overall lead for season and best dancer to boot followed closely by Brandy. They are the best dancers and should have been split up to keep things more even but show gave up on fair a long time ago. If they wanted fair they would have split these two and then split Rick and Kurt onto each team and then split Kyle and Bristol onto each team to keep things even. Each gets best dancer, each gets an athlete, and each gets a teen.

I totally agree that they will go after Kyle if they can't get Bristol. They know their plan with Kurt backfired so I think he gets a pass and then the hatchet will come down on him again in a week or two.

It gets worse if this is true and the teams become even more obvious now. Go to bottom of article to read. It appears that winner of team dancing are ALL exempt from elimination. Total jump the shark if true.

That's the way it is worded and that's what makes the whole thing suspect. I wonder if it's a misprint - otherwise one of Bristol, Kyle and Rick is going home - or one of Jennifer, Brandy, Kurt......

If J/B/K lose, Kurt leaves, if B/K/R lose, Bristol leaves - so maybe there is a method to this madness.....idk

Okay, DWTS, you've totally lost me. Everyone's exempt from elimination on the winning team? Kyle, Rick, and Bristol don't have a chance, unless the dance is the hokey pokey, then maybe. So Derek wins team dancing yet again, and Cheryl loses for the first time, unless the show desperately wants to get rid of Kurt and throws a curveball.

Apparently Apolo has a book out, so that may be why he's doing the show. I don't know any details about it, but he's interesting so I may look into it.
Reportedly, Apolo is taking part in the new Skating with the Stars on ABC. So a lot of people figure that's the tie in.

I know the show keeps trying to come up with twists to keep it "fresh", but this is ridiculous and blatantly unfair. If someone is on the losing team but is fantastic in their individual part as well as scores a 30 for their own routine, they still have a one in three chance of being eliminated, while someone on the winning team who botches their routine and scores a 15 is safe? Really, ABC?? However, the way it's worded makes me question whether the writer of the article really understands how the elimination works to start with. Why does "adding up the scores" even matter if the team that wins the dance off is all exempt, regardless of how each one did on their first routine? Something doesn't make sense to me.

Bingo! Anyone with one eye and half good sense can see that one which is why I said that was flagrant manipulation. It is obvious that they want one of the three of them to go home.

I'm praying the article is bad info because it's just horrendous and such an agenda if true. They can't even chance Jenn's side losing to try and get Kurt out because it could totally backfire and another contender would go this week. I wonder if this is how they get Bristol out. They might realize while Bristol gets a lot of votes many want her out and this is how they do it. If she doesn't go Kyle is gone. Totally unfair regardless.
