I live in Indy and he's very popular on the racing circuit ... just a really, really ice 'gentleman' (literally).
I read elsewhere that he is a good friend of Apollo's and was 'recruited' by him to be on DwtS.
I thought Helio was personality plus tonight! Even if people don't know who he is, how could you deny that smile and positive friendlyness!?

I was so pleasantly surprised by Helio's personality and dancing ability! Julianne is as cute as ever, and I'm still impressed with her choreography! These two are a great partnership and I'm excited to see what they can do this season.
Julianne is absolutely adorable and Helio is a much better dancer than I thought. I think if america votes based on dance ability this may be a Juliane/Helio vs Sabrina/Mark showdown. I like Wayne Newton, Jane Seymore and Marie Osmond, but they don't have the quickness, energy, or endurance to keep up with the youngsters. Julianne is fresh, young and innocent looking and I really enjoy her dancing. I loved her and Apollo last year.
Who is Anton? LOL.
I am worried about this pairing only because so many of the fans refuse to see past Apolo. He's actually quiet good, is charming as all get out, and isn't a cry baby. He was in a wreck... big deal... carry on ... was his attitude and that was so refreshing instead of the constant reminders of various malformations and injuries the various dancers have.
To my untrained eye, he was the best male of the night and the only male that can go toe to toe with the females since so many of them stepped up and ground their high heels into the men.
I have to confess I'd never heard of him before finding out he was a contestant this season, I'm not a racing fan.
I really liked him. Very likeable guy and of course Julianne is adorable.
I think and hope they'll be around a long while.
Last nite was wonderful. People finally got to see Helio's personality. Since he & I both live here in Miami (he actually lives in Coral Gables) I've seen him on the local Sunday Nite sports shows as a guest.
He is always a gentleman, and last nite you saw a suave Brasilian hunk, with a great big smile and winning personality.
The dancing was great, and of course as a lifelong fan of the TV show Bewitched I was rather pleased to see them dance a lovely fox trot to that song. As Carrie Ann and Bruno pointed out, Julianne's choreography is outstanding. Did anyone else think her little nose twitch at the end was just an adorable ending to their dance ? Just cute as a button.
