The episode is on Youtube now. I didn't watch anything but the introductions of the couple, however one interesting thing: Edyta said she and Alec hated each other when they first met but she thinks maybe because she didn't speak English well led to miscommunication They make such a cute couple.

I did watch the show and you are right they are such a cute couple. They kind of struggled with their answers but it was fun to see them. I wondered when that was taped....any ideas? I also saw a preview for the couples you mentioned but I do not know when that one is airing! Thanks for the update!

I got through the episodes. I'm not sure what I think of the revival of The Newlywed Game, because it seems like it's still stuck in the 70's/80's with the music and set And I wasn't really digging Carnie as host. Anyway, they are a really cute couple Edyta is such a doll.

I agree with you on not digging Carnie as the host. I would love to see more of the pros doing some fun things like this though!

No phone voting for Phillie fans!! Our news just stated that we won't be able to vote by phone, only online because Dancing is being shown from 2-4 AM due to the Eagles game. I think we would be able to vote if we have the numbers although I hate voting sight-unseen. Grrrr!! Watch the Eagles on ESPN and leave our ABC affiliate to Dancing fans!!!

Re: DWTS Media Thread

Maks will be returning to Burn the Floor once the season is over, but instead of Karina, Kym will be dancing with him on the show. She did BTF once before so this will probably be an exciting return for her.

As for the dances next week, we have the team dances: Team Tango (Kelly/Louis, Joanna/Derek, and Donny/Kym) vs Team Paso (Mark/Lacey, Aaron/Karina, Michael/Anna, and Mya/Dmitry). As for the individual dances, Mark/Lacey have the samba, Mya/Dmitry the foxtrot, and Aaron/Karina the jive (no wonder they picked it for their KO dance).

Not sure on the rest or what the KO dances are for this week, if they have to pick a different one.

Re: DWTS Media Thread

Here are the dance assignments for next week:

Aaron/Karina: Jive
Donny/Kym: Quick step
Mark/Lacey (though Anna T. is reportedly subbing in for Lacey because she's sick- for Anna!): Samba
Michael/Anna: Foxtrot
Joanna/Derek: Rumba
Kelly/Louis: Salsa
Mya/Dmitry: Foxtrot

Team dances:

Team Paso: Aaron/Karina, Mark/Lacey, Michael/Anna, Mya/Dmitry
Team Tango: Donny/Kym, Joanna/Derek, Kelly/Louis

And then the KO dances. I do wonder if they have to come up with a new KO dance, because Aaron's KO dance was going to be the jive. If they don't, and his regular dance this week is the jive, that's either smart thinking or it might backfire.

Dancing's Maks Takes Up Golfing, Wishes Karina and Aaron the Best - Celebrity Blogs | TVGuide.com

Here's Maks current TV blog. I thought this bit was pretty funny:

Quote:
Since I left, I wound up watching the show on TV for the first time. I know it sounds surprising, but I don't watch much TV. I ended up flipping between that and So You Think You Can Dance, which I've never seen before either. One of my students whom I taught for about 15 years was dancing there and she's doing amazing. Her name is Karen Hauer. She did a cha-cha and it was awesome! I have to congratulate her on her success and hopefully she'll go on. But as I'm watching our show, I was wowed by our production. I know how much work goes into production, but now finally seeing the finished product was impressive. I just want to give a shout-out to our production because they do a great job.
So he had a reason to watch, as he has a former student on there, but I wonder how TPTB at DWTS feel about him mentioning flipping between their show and the competition. Which some say is better quality and in a season when DWTS has hit an all time low.

And then this:

Quote:
I want to let Karina to enjoy her time and I want Aaron to enjoy his Dancing with the Stars experience because it's not fair if my presence makes him cringe or makes her cringe or makes him uncomfortable. I wish them all the best.
I wish Karina and Maks all the best and hope that they find their true loves. It's probably better they got this figured out now before they got married and brought kids into the mix. I know that both Debi and Aaron have mentioned it hasn't been easy being parterned with the duo because of the break up, especially when the show decides its a smart idea to put them rehearsing in studios right next to each other. But I hope next season there's no awkwardness and they can all just get along.

'Dancing's Burke heading to Broadway?

By Mike Moody

Dancing With The Stars contestant Cheryl Burke could join the Broadway cast of Chicago.

The 25-year-old dancer is currently in talks to take on the role of Roxie Hart on the Tony Award-winning musical this winter, reports People.

"It's always been a dream of Cheryl's to perform on Broadway. She's excited to show off her other talents besides being a good dancer. She's been vocally trained and she has a great voice," said a source.

Burke would join Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Kym Johnson as one of the many Dancing stars who have appeared on Broadway.
And the press release of Maks and Kym returning to Broadway:

Dancing With The Stars 2009 cast: Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Kym Johnson head for Broadway

Soon after they finish up their "Dancing with the Stars" duties, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Kym Johnson will be on Broadway as part of the cast of "Burn the Floor." According to the New York Post, they will join the ballroom dance show just after Thanksgiving and remain until mid-January.

Chmerkovskiy has been performing on the results show on Tuesdays having been eliminated with his partner Debi Mazar a few weeks ago (week 3). Johnson and her celebrity partner, Donny Osmond, are still dancing for the mirrorbal trophy.

The "Dancing with the Stars" finale is set for 24 November 2009. Chmerkovskiy had previously appeared on the Broadway show with his then-fiancee Karina Smirnoff. The show was originally supposed to run over the summer, but was extended due to brisk ticket sales.
