Kelsey isn't from Texas; she's from Monroe, LA.
I agree with what a lot of you have said, the show has been more about the singing than the dancing. I think the reason why Bruno praises Kelsey so much is because she just recently started singing and has improved. Her focus has always been on dancing. The first time she ever really sang in front of anyone was at the callbacks. Not even some of her close friends knew she could sing. I'm sure with more vocal training she'd get better.
