LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Former MTV personality Brian McFayden has been struck by "Cupid's" arrow, coming aboard as host of the CBS summer reality series from "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell.

Production on the one-hour matchmaking show, which aims to find the perfect mate for an eligible young woman, is set to begin May 19.

McFayden served as a substitute host on MTV's flagship show "Total Request Live" and as the host of "Hot Zone." He also hosted the 2000 and 2001 Miss Teen USA Pageants as well as the "Ford Supermodel of the World Search." He started his broadcasting career in radio, as the comedic sidekick on "The Cane Show," which aired on New York's WXRK-FM.

McFayden's live TV experience will come into play because the home stretch portion of the series featuring 10 finalists for the woman's heart will be live, with viewers voting off a contestant every week.
