Alfonso was my favorite since the first episode, and so far, he still remains my favorite. This guy has what it takes to be a champion. :yay
What an exciting outcome that would be to have 'Fonso go to Caesars to fight for the $1 million purse against a seasoned vet...and walk away with it all.
I think the show has vastly improved since the elimination of the idiotic team concept. I hope the show continues to generate positive word-of-mouth, leading to an exciting (and hyped) finale that will bring in the viewers this show deserves. :nod
wow...thanks a lot guys....i really really like what everyone here says about me and the show...your guys are great! The episodes are getting better and better.....keep watching and supporing guyz....god bless you all...=)
:hiya Alfonso is that really you? If so, I think you're fantastic! You're a very talented fighter and a great guy. Your mother obviously did a great job raising you.I'm hoping for a final two fight between you and Sergio.Keep smiling Alfonso! Good luck from Montreal! :)
I am not quite sure about this bloke. He hasn't got that finishing punch. He has Ahmed on the mad, completely down and out and then somehow he managed to put himself in a very bad position after that. He made the fight a lot closer than it actually should have been. He needs to pull up his socks if he has to win this championship!
Did you just call Alfonso a "bloke"? That's probably the first time in his life he's ever been called that. :) Just kidding.Quote:

In the meantime, he has a combination of heart and class that I find very appealing, that I think also appeals to fans of this show, hardcore boxing fans or not. :)
The amount of respect Alfonso has for everyone is amazing. To be the smallest guy and make it to the final 4 and even to punch as hard as he did made this a really good show. The last fight against Manfredo was unbelievable, the punches exchanged especially in the last round made it real entertaining. When I expected them to tire out they just got harder and faster. I was hoping to see him and Sergio in the final, but no matter what he will go far.
It broke my heart to see Alfonso lose. Sly called Joey Gilbert "the heart and soul" of the competition (when Joey was making his exit), but for me, the real heart and soul of The Contender is Alfonso. I was really hoping he would make it to the final 2 but I guess it wasn't meant to be this time. With that positive attitude of his, I'm sure Alfonso will be successful in anything he does.
