Ben Affleck wins (non-CPS) poker tournament

    Ben Affleck wins poker tournament

Ben Affleck has beaten fellow actor Tobey Maguire and a field of over 90 poker players to win first place and $356,400 at a major poker tournament in California.

The win has also earned him a seat in next year's World Poker Tour Championship in Las Vegas.

At the final table, Affleck beat poker pro Stan Goldstein, who finished second, and knocked out Chuck Pacheco, president and co-founder of Castle Rock Entertainment, who finished third.

Commenting on his win, Casino spokeswoman Nancy Friedman said "this is not likely the last time you'll see Ben Affleck at one of our final tables, he has become a respected member of the poker elite and continues to work to improve his game."

Actor Tobey Maguire went out on the first day of the three-day tournament that ended Sunday.

Not related to CPS, but interesting nonetheless.

    Corine!

"Jennifer could not appreciate his dedication to the game" because she didn't know the game of poker. She assumed it was "typical gambling," but without the "house advantage" it's not a losing proposition game. IMO, it's a sport. Playing long hours is practice perfecting the game, not a life of a degenerate gambler. Good for Mr. Afflect!

    That's a lot of loot

Ben must be real good - even though it's pocket change for him. 300 grand is a lot of money for me that's for sure. I can buy me a house with that!

It takes $ to make $ that's for sure
