Re: Sandra Bullock and Jesse James

I also feel for Sandra and for the kids involved. I'm so tired of women who claim that they didn't know a man was married. let's face it, a lot of women don't care these days-whether a man is spread across the tabloid sheets with his wife or if he's simply the average joe who doesn't bother to take off his ring, some women simply are too accessible. So let me get this straight, she's saying she went into his office and asked one whole question before she found it okay to sleep with a man she'd known for less than a day? CLASSY!

In the paper today they spoke with a family friend, who said that Sandra truly trusted her husband although he was always surrounded by women throwing themselves at him. Hopefully he hasn't totally damaged her and she won't bring a complete lack of trust into her next relationship. If she chooses to stay you can bet he'll have to spend a lot of years getting that trust level back, and still it will probably never be the same. A true case of "you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone". Sad.

I find more fault with Jesse than the "other woman". He's the one who was married yet cheated and lied. Don't get me wrong, I'm not supporting "other women". But he's the most to blame. Ditto Tiger times 12, 15, or however many other women it was. That is something to wonder with Jesse, too; was it "just" one other woman?

But it's particularly revolting that this particular other woman apparently pre-planned the outing to the media. Maybe Tiger's other women pre-planned it, too, but this time we've actually heard about it. Who knows, maybe these women tried to "shake them down" for $$$ or whatever.

Why do people feel they have to apologize to the public or make their apology to the family public, then will turn around and want privacy?

To be "fair" (not that people in scandals like this always deserve fairness), its the fault less of any specific celeb than it is our degenerate society--where notions of what's public and private, and how you are supposed to react to the howling madness of paparazzi, scandal rags, tell-alls, Entertainment Tonight, P.R. agents, Twitter, and a million other pressures and avenues has all been scrambled into nonsense.

I blame a combination of Anna Nichole Smith and Ashton Kutcher. The moment that twit started blabbing every little thing which came to his mind, the bar got lowered for good on the relationship, the dividing line, between celebs, handlers, and the public. And now we live in a world where every lamebrain "tweets" about every damn thing, and everyone feels they have to make a "statement" (usually via Twitter, but a rag like Entertainment Tonight or The Insider or Access Hollywood could just as easily be the conduit), because people are talking anyway.

This is solid proof that even if some men has sirloin at home they will still want to go out and devour that $2 hot dog that will give them gas.

The whole thing just makes me angry. I'm not a huge fan of The Blind Side, but I've always liked Sandra. She couldn't even bask in her Oscar win thanks to this useless piece of Nazi trash. What's even worse is that her husband didn't even care about his own health, much less Sandra's.

It also made me angry to hear about unprotected sex. Such a selfish and risky act, to engage in sex w/out protection putting yourself and your family at risk. I don't see how that can be forgiven? To take someone's well-being so lightly?

I'm also sad that her Oscar win will be forever tainted by this scandal.

Sandra is a strong woman, one who has been humiliated and betrayed. She will decide what is best for her, and I'm sure she'll have to consider the 3 children as she does. She has been a rock for them, especially the youngest girl whom Jessie just won full custody over. I believe I read somewhere that his ex will now try to regain custody over this issue.

I wonder if Jessie thinks it was worth it? I'm guessing not.

    Who knows?

It make take some time, maybe a lot of time (if ever), for him to evaluate that. It would take some serious self-introspection.

I can understand that the ex would try to regain custody now that she's out of prison, regardless of "this issue".

But I'm commenting without doing the homework.

    What a mess.

I def. agree that Jesse is more at fault, he was indeed the one in the committed relationship. I just hate that these women try to play it as if they're innocents in these situations. Some people make it all too easy and acceptable for people to be low and dirty. I always think of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. He is, well, Brad Pitt and he and Jennifer Aniston had no children so it was okay. Plus it was Angelina Jolie and she's oh so hot so it was okay (sarcasm!). Funny how that scandal just fizzled and died because of who the players were and because of Angelina and Brad's individual superstar drawing power. Marriage is only sacred to the public if certain portions of it find the affair participants unacceptable. Sad.

The fact that he quite possibly had unprotected sex with this over inked alleged nazi lover( and the accusations now that Jesse himself is accussed of coveting nazi memorabilia) may damage Sandra's career if she chooses to stand by her man. The public can be so fickle and unfair in these matters. Think Rhianna. She's doing quite well as long as she left and is able to wave either the victim flag or empowered woman flag (for leaving) whenever she so chooses. Had she stayed her careeer would likely be sinking like a stone ala Chris Brown. At one point she sounded like she wanted to stay, and the negative rumblings seemed to edge her into if not making a safety decision at the very least making a career decision. Makes you wonder how many angles Sandra will need to consider before making a decision.

Thanks so much for bringing that up. It mystifies me how in some cases, infidelity is okay with the public. In my opinion, it's never okay. If your marriage is broken, be decent enough to end it before starting with someone else. And Brad Pitt and Jennifer may not have had kids, but Angelina did. Just as Jesse has them. Doesn't anyone care how this affects the children long term? Or is scratching an itch more important?
As someone told me once when we talked about his prior marriage, "I never cheated on my wife - not that she didn't cheat on me - but I made a promise and I was going to stand by it as long as we were married."

I never cared for Angelina and lost a lot of respect for Brad Pitt when the two of them got together. But I don't think the whole thing just fizzled... Jennifer and Brad have seemed to be on at least 1 or 2 supermarket rags for the past 5 years....
