The vibe of this service just felt a little different from what you would see with a president or such. Maybe it was the idea of having the event at the Staples Center. I dunno. When I think of memorial service, my brain goes to church or cathedral.

I've gotten a lump in my throat, but I haven't cried. I'm annoyed with him.

I really have no problem with the closed casket there. I think it's very fitting and is a perfect tribute to the man who lived for his fans.
I've been watching on CNN and they've been showing the tributes going on all over the world. Amazing how his music has touched so many. Donna Brazile on CNN said how she and her family (9 kids like Michael's) grew up amid the backdrop of MJ. Coming after Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Bobby, et all, she said how Michael gave them all so much hope and inspiration through a very dark time in history.

I wasnt going to watch, but I'm glad I did. Very moving and uplifting, very respectful and touching. A few moments here and there you could feel people were putting out their own agenda, but over all, nicely done.

I begrudge no one acknowledging someone who has had such a huge impact on the world. His children/family really need to hear what is being said. When you lose a close family member, these kinds of things are really important.
