This is a real shock. Irrespective of all the controversy, (which I never fully bought) MJ was a rare talent. I loved hearing him sing "Ben", and also the moonwalk.
RIP.

That's funny, for some reason Ben was going through my head tooOriginally Posted by tango7;3526290;
I got attacked on my Facebook by people who didn't feel that his death was anything major. To me, yes, he may have done some bad things, but I don't entirely buy the controversy. What cannot be denied was that he was a tortured soul and I hope that in death he can gain the peace that he did could not have in life. I've been following this on MSNBC for an hour and a half now and it's just sad hearing all the stories. There was one of them where there was a young boy-figure in the 12-15 age range, and he said to his mom that he hoped that MJ would get into heaven. There will be no equal to the talent that he had. He forever changed the world of music and for that, we are grateful.

The first thing I thought about was his children as well. I hope that they will be able to have a semi normal life and I hope that their mother will be able to get custody of them. I know she signed her rights away but certainly there must be something she can do.
I love Michael Jackson when I was a little girl, I still love his songs. I hope he finds the peace that he somehow never could find here.
I'm just sitting here in shock, bawling my eyes out. First Farrah, and now Michael? Sleep well, King of Pop. T_T
At least the Jeff Goldblum one was a hoax.
This is a sad day. Despite all the controversy he brought music to new levels. He was taken too young. RIP Michael.
Okay I love FORT's casino, but I really am not very good. If anyone wants to donate their FORT $$ I would gladly accept http://www.fansofrealitytv.com/forum....php?do=donate
I was surprised but must say I wasn't shocked...not sure why. RIP Michael & Farrah
I cam't say I was surprised -- always felt he would die young. I sympathize with his family as I would for any family that loses someone, but I was not a fan and I feel a lot worse about Farrah.

I completely agree with this. He was such a huge talent when he was younger, it was very sad to see him on the bizarre downward spiral that he followed these last years. Best wishes for his children. I hope they are able to lead a relatively normal life from here out, because I honestly cannot believe they have led a normal life up to this point.Originally Posted by misskitty;3526202;
The thing that surprised me the most was that he was 50!
It seems he was a young man with so much talent just a few years ago.
I hope history is kind to him. He was a tremendous talent. It's such a shame that his life & personality got so bizzare.
The whole child star thing really takes its toll, even with the most talented of them.
I often am greatful that my own lot in life is to just be boringly normal.
RIP Michael.
