Maybe Trig is short for "trigger." JUST KIDDING! Even I don't think that. I think dagwood had it right...they sound very much like soap opera names! The girls names are OK...but Trig? And Track?

Apart from holding the opinion that it is just a really unattractive and unmelodious name, I'm always a little taken aback when I hear it because bristols is a British euphemism for breasts (possibly archaic, but then, I'm old and the term was in use when I was young).

I don't actually like any of her kids' names (don't like her, for that matter) - they all just seem a little hickish to me.

Perhaps I am really slow, but I was watching some celebrity gossip show on tv for a second while flipping channels and it was about Paul McCartney and Heather Mills and their daughter, Beatrice. Never thought of it before, but is she named BEATrice after the BEATles?

Re: Celebaby News: aka "What NOT to name your kid"

There used to be an actress named Piper Laurie. But the Alaska connection makes me think when I hear Piper is an oil pipeline worker or perhaps an airplane. There is a small plane (and small planes are used a lot in Alaska) named a Piper Cub.

They very much sound like soap opera names.

Trig supposedly is some Norse thing.

So is Track's middle name, "Field"?

Re: Celebaby News: aka "What NOT to name your kid"

I swear, with the possible exceptions of Willow and Piper, if I were one of Sarah Palin's kids, I'd get my name legally changed as soon as possible.

We've had a lot of fun over in the election thread with the Sarah Palin Baby name generator.

Here it is for those of you who don't venture into that thread.
