She was 87 when James Cameron asked her to be in the movie Titanic.

She spent many hours in the make-up chair, being made to look old enough to play the 101 year old Rose

She was the only cast member who was alive when the Titanic went down. I always thought the movie was overrated, but she was wonderful.

I thought she was terrific and just beautiful in the movie, as well.
I thought it was one of the most overwrought and manipulative movies I've ever seen, though. And, I happen to like both Leonardo and Kate.

As a history teacher, I absolutely loved Titanic...but they did take license with the story...constantly I have kids asking if there really was a jack and rose ....

but it truly showed class divisions and the feelings of the time.

Mrs. Stuart was awesome and I loved her spunk

Aww that's just awful! I hadn't even heard about him being hospitalized-wasn't any coverage on our local news that I'd seen. What a shame!
