    Re: Rest In Peace.

I just read about Lynn Redgrave. My first thought was for Vanessa. In the last year, she's lost her daughter, her brother Corin and now her sister Lynn. I can't imagine how she must be feeling. How does that just not put you on your knees?

    RIP Ms. Redgrave.
Georgy Girl was one of my long time favorite British movies.
And, I got to see Ms. Redgrave years ago in her one woman play.
    Very sad.

Very sorry to hear of Lynn Redgrave's passing. Vanessa has had a very difficult year. Thoughts are with her and the rest of the family.

Lynn Redgrave was always my favorite of the Redgrave actors, along with her dad Sir Michael, a fantastic actor. What I didn't know was that Michael's father was a renowned silent film actor. And what I had forgotten was the Vanessa married her Camelot co-star Franco Nero. This was a superbly talented family.

So sorry to hear about Lynn Redgrave's passing. 67 is much too young, and what an awful year it has been for Vanessa!

Ernie Harwell, legendary broadcaster for the Detroit Tigers, has passed away after a year long battle with cancer. He was 92.

Legendary broadcaster Ernie Harwell dies at 92 | detnews.com | The Detroit News

I remember as a kid, we would be driving home to Michigan from visiting family in West Virginia, and we could get the signal for WJR, the radio station that carried the Tigers games all the way in the southern part of Ohio.
Anyway, his voice was so soothing and genteel, I would be lulled to sleep as we listened to the games on our drive home.

    RIP Ernie

    Lena Horne dead at 92

Singer, dancer and actress Lena Horne died at New York-Presbyterian Hospital on Sunday night, a hospital spokeswoman said.

    Horne was 92.

She was one of the first African-Americans to sign a long-term movie contract with a major Hollywood studio when she joined MGM in 1942.

"I think the black boy that cleaned the shoes and me were the only two black people except the maids who were there working for the stars," Horne said in a CNN interview. "And it was very lonely, and I wasn't very happy."

Still, Horne said she was grateful that her World War II-era films - including "Cabin in the Sky" and "Stormy Weather" - were seen by black and white soldiers.

"But after I realized I would only go so far, I went on the stage," Horne said.
