    Re: Rest In Peace.

I just read about Dixie Carter on Yahoo! News and actually gasped. I'm totally shocked. I never thought she would outlive her husband and didn't realize she was ill. None of the articles I read mentioned the cause of death. Whatever happened, 70 is still pretty young. She was such a wonderful talent. I loved her in Designing Women. Her sparring with Delta Burke (and everyone else) was one of the best things about the show.

    Such a loss

No freaking way...I love Dixie Cater. I just read it on Comcast. Their article said the family didn't disclose the cause of death.

How sad. Rest in peace, Ms Carter. You will be missed.

Darn, I'm so sorry to hear about Dixie Carter, such a talented actress and singer. I really thought her husband would go before she did; he's quite a few years older than she. Like Critical, I didn't know she was ill, but they always seemed to be a pretty private couple. She will be missed.

I did too. She was a wonderfully unique actress. I loved her intelligent wit on Designing Women. Condolences to Mr. Holbrook, her family and may she rest in peace.

What a lovely woman she was. She created some great characters through the years.
I loved when she had Hal Holbrook on the show. Such chemistry.
    RIP Ms. Sugarbaker.

I'm shocked about Dixie's death. Designing Women is one of my all time favorites and I also loved her in the legal drama Family Law that she co-starred in with Tony Danza on CBS quite a few years back. Something about her acting reminded me of some other greats, that you just believed in her character and thought she could easily be that person in real life. May she RIP.

One of my favorite Dixie quotes from Designing Women was the episode where Suzanne Sugarbaker thought she had to give her pageant crown back and Dixie's character confronted someone trash talking her sister, ending it with "and your children will someday know that is the night the lights went out in Georgia!"

I had a yoga video with her leading the exercises. Her southern drawl somehow sent me into unhelpful giggles. I'm sad to hear of her passing. I didn't watch Designing Women a lot, but she was my favorite character on it.

I too was shocked to hear of Dixie's sudden death. And I do wonder what the cause was. One article said she was performing with her husband these days, so I cant imagine it was something they could forsee happening. I just loved watching her on tv whether in a comedy or a drama. 70 is too soon for her to go.

Oh, my goodness, what a shock.

I loved and enjoyed her for years on "Designing Women".

    Such a talented lady.

    She will be sorely missed.

    RIP, Dixie.
