Very sad. LOVED Ed. Thought he was like a version of Dick Clark, he was involved in so much and I had NO IDEA he was 86!! He will be missed!

My first thought was that he and Johnny Carson are back together again. I wonder if he was greated by Johnny at the pearly gates with: HEEEEERRRREEEE'SSSS ED! I'd like to think so.

It made me sad. The very end of an era.

Imissme, he was someone so old, you wouldn't know who he was.

    Try Google.

Lord knows he didn't get much peace in his final years on earth.

Is somebody pulling my leg saying that they don't know who Ed McMahon is???

    Re: Rest In Peace.

Awww, I grew up with Ed and will miss him. Even though he and Johnny haven't been on my screen for a very long time, I have such great memories of the two of them. Johnny retired when I was in college, so I wasn't completely into the Tonight Show but I would sneak a few and really liked the two of them together. My radio station this morning did a really nice tribute to Ed via him and Johnny doing a Carnac the Magnificent bit. I admit I was more of the "Ed hosts Star Search!" generation but I did love what I was able to see on the Tonight Show when Mom wasn't home or had already gone to bed

    RIP Ed
