Don Pardo's voice was SNL's jingle.
Regardless of the situation, when you heard his voice, you knew it was time for SNL.

It feels both sad and appropriate that he has passed this close to the start of the 40th season where they've planned on such hoopla to celebrate.

I'm not going to bother with that carp about Robin. I choose to remember him for the joy he brought people, both on screen & off. The rest is immaterial.
Count me in on your sentiments here, please.

There but for the grace of God (or Who[WHOM?]ever your Somebody may be, if you happen to have One) go any one of us, at any given time.

WE just happen to be the lucky ones in that it's not US who're in the public eye and on the public radar.

    RIP, Robin.

I'm one that DOES remember him.

That golden voice of his is being used to make announcements Upstairs, now.

    RIP, Don.

I remember him from long before his SNL days. He was the voice of a lot of game shows. I think that was why SNL used him in the first place, because it was a camp thing to do. He was the voice of my childhood.

You know, it's rather scary when so many people you knew growing up die. I remember when I hardly knew anyone who died. Most seemed so old and I had no memories of them. (Except for super stars like Elvis or John Lennon.) But, now there seem to be so many people passing. Maybe I should avoid this thread for a little while. lol
