I'm sorry to hear that. Even though it seemed probably, I was hoping that was not the case.

Paul Goddard the bass player for The Atlanta Rhythm Section died yesterday. He could play a mean bass, now he can play that Champaign Jam with all the other great that have passed.

    Not a surprise.

Here's another "daughter of" celebrity death to report. I guess she is famous on her own in some circles, but I don't have much to do with the Miami art scene. I would not have recognized her father by name either, but I am familiar with his songwriting work (Hang On Sloopy and the theme to The Partridge Family show among his hits)

Efrem Zimbalist Jr. has died. He certainly played a part in many fun TV series of my youth. RIP, Mr. Zimbalist.

Haven't thought about this man in forever. 95 is impressive. Always enjoyed his acting.

I knew he was still alive and was surprised. RIP Mr. Zimbalist

Maybe I'm just different from a lot of people? I see nothing surprising about a 95 year old man dying.

I had been surprised he was still alive. Dying at 95 isn't a surprise, I like to think we celebrate his life and work and not mourn or be shocked at his passing.

    Re: Rest In Peace.

He had so many good roles, but who can forget Stuart Bailey in 77 Sunset Strip? His parents were so accomplished in music, too. Father was a concert violinist and mother was opera singer, Anna Gluck.

Actually, the whole cast from that show, which I loved, have had long and pretty fascinating lives. Zimbalist is the first to pass on other than Louis Quinn. Edd Byrnes is still with us as is Jacqueline Beer, widow of Thor Heyerdahl. And Roger Smith, married for more than 40 years to Ann Margaret, has been ill for most of that time, first with a blood clot in his brain, then with myastenia gravis, is still around and will always be the adult Patrick Dennis to me.
