What a pleasant memory nudge. I wish I had it on hand to watch now, thinking of it.

Wasn't that a gem of a movie? (pun intended). It makes me smile just to remember it. There were 3 caper movies of that time period that I just loved. That one, Charade, also with Audrey Hepburn, and Gambit with Michael Caine and Shirley MacLaine.

I'm sad to see that James Avery, who played Uncle Phil on The Fresh Prince has died. RIP!

    Juanita Moore?

    Oh, my goodness.

Of COURSE I remember her from "Imitation of Life". She was SO amazingly wonderful as Annie! I had to stop watching that movie YEARS ago, because I always lost/lose it during the scene where Mahalia Jackson appears.

Much as I'd like to have it on DVD, I STILL can't watch it, at ALL.

RIP, to Miss Moore AND to James Avery, as well.

I cry at the funeral scene every time in an imitation of life.

That movie was always one of my favorites. Truthfully, I was surprised to learn that Ms. Moore was still alive.
