    RIP Patti Page.

I learned "Moon River" on the piano, via sheet music with her photo on the front (in an evening gown). Her, not me, LOL.
The Bachelor/Bachelorette series is a soap opera with unskilled actors, bad writing, and beautiful locations...it even edits the real moon!

She had a very distinctive singing voice. I'd like to add "Allegheny Moon," "Old Cape Cod," and "Tennessee Waltz" to her songs that I love.

OMG! I'm gasping. I knew there weren't going to be anymore new shows, but I hadn't realized he had retired. One of his California Gold stories highlighted my hometown, McCloud, CA. This was about 10 or so years ago but once a McCloudian, honorary or not, always a McCloudian.

He and I are a year apart in age, so all the more shocking to me.

RIP, Huell - I loved your enthusiastic approach to your travel docs and videos.

    omg!!!!!!!!

I gasped when I read MsDiva's message and my husband came upstairs to make sure I was okay. I didn't think I had gasped so loudly!

There were rumors he had retired due to health issues but I thought that he'd recover from whatever was ailing him. I am so sad at this news.

    Re: Rest In Peace.

RIP, Aaron Swartz, who committed suicide yesterday in NYC. He was 26.

If you're wondering who he is...at 14, he co-wrote the RSS web feed system. He created a company that was eventually sold to Wired/Conde Naste and became Reddit. He created DemandProgress.org and played a key role in stopping the various online piracy bills in Congress.

He also downloaded millions of articles from MIT in September 2010, for which he was being sued. If he had been found guilty, the government was going to request millions of dollars in fines and 35-50 years in jail. (Be sure to read the Alex Stamos article linked below.)
