Donna Summer is dead at 63 - CNN.com

One of the greatest voices of her generation. It's like a part of my youth has died. I loved Donna Summer

ETA: It's being reported that Mary Kennedy died from asphyxiation due to hanging. It's so awful.

The death of Donna Summer was indeed a shock. I wasn't aware that she was battling cancer. Loved her music. I remember seeing that movie "Thank God It's Friday". Disco music was so much fun.

And yes, Mary Kennedy's death is tragic - moreso if it was suicide. One can't help but wonder about the emotional/mental turture a person goes thru before they decide to commit such an act.

    RIP to both these women.

She was a singer who really could just stand there and sing.she did not need vocal tricks, outrageous costumes, contorted facial expressions, or publicity stunts; she needed only her voice and she will be missed.

    Re: Rest In Peace.

I couldn't believe when I read that Donna Summer has died. She was one of my earliest favorite singers. My parents had 8 track tapes of Donna Summer, Fleetwood Mac, ABBA, K C & the Sunshine Band and a few others. I listened to Donna a lot.

She had so much talent and her music defined a whole generation. You can't think of disco without thinking of Donna Summer. She will be greatly missed.

This one makes me cry. He was my favorite Bee Gee. Not many made me cry but this one did.

Rest in Peace, Robin. You will be missed.

    Oh my goodness . . .

Dick Clark, Donna Summer and now Robin Gibb.

My heart is hurting terribly, right now.

    RIP, Robin.

    So very sad.
