As I posted in NFL thread, it makes you wonder about the injuries these guys get out on the field. Dave Duerson of the Bears also shot himself in the chest and donated his brain to researching the effects of all the injuries on the brain.

Eight players who were on the Raiders the year they won the superbowl in the 90s, including Junior Seau now, have died. Really sad.
libgirl2, honestly,no offense to you on this but I think if guys go into pro-football, they've got to know by now how hazardous it is to their bodies.
So I guess I don't understand about the lawsuit with Duerson and others. (had read about it in the news of Junior Seau)
I remember when I was taking karate lessons for 2 years (25 yrs ago) and my doctor would ask me why each time he treated my injuries, like broken nose, concussion, etc. I told him I knew going into it that this might happen but I still felt it was something I wanted/needed to do.
Being small and a woman, I wanted to feel more secure and not a hopeless victim. I attained that but I got a lot of injuries in the process.
(I also got a great husband, because I married my teacher!!...lucky me!
