Well I do like me some JHud, but I agree with you. Someone along the lines of Faith Evans, Mary J Blige, Kelly Price, et al, would have been more fitting in my opinion.

I was just talking about The Big Valley last week with a co-worker, and mentioned that I always thought Peter Breck was the best looking Barkley - unaware that he had died. I found out yesterday when I saw an episode of TBV. This is going to get very little notice now, though.

I'm actually happy to hear JHud will be singing the tribute to Whitney. IMO nobody truly compares to Whitney, but JHud is still awesome.

I assume most have heard by now that there reportedly were a lot of prescription drugs found in her room, including Xanax, which causes drowsiness when taken with alcohol. Reports are that she was partying heavily the night before in the hotel bar - or at a party in the bar.

I hadn't heard this until yesterday, but a movie titled "Sparkle" will be out in August, starring Jordin Sparks (not sure if the title has anything to do with her last name). Whitney is in it.

Tony Bennett is stating that if drugs were legalized, then things like this (as with Michael Jackson and Amy Winehouse) wouldn't be happening. He said that people would go to a doctor to get it. If the root cause of Whitney's death was a cocktail of prescription meds, possibly alcohol and bath water, I'd like to know how legalizing drugs would have saved her. And a doctor WAS involved in Michael Jackson's overdose!

Who knows how long she was alone before her bodyguard checked on her.

I, too, was shocked when I read the news. I couldn't believe she was 48, she somehow seemed younger to me. My condolences to her family. At the pre-Grammy party, Bobby Brown took the stage in a tribute and broke down as he left the stage. Apparently he cried heavily throughout the event.

I agree that another singer might be more appropriate for the Grammy tribute, but Jennifer Hudson is the girl of the moment. At least it's not Beyonce.

TMZ is reporting that "it is increasingly looking like Whitney may have fallen asleep or lapsed into unconsciousness in the bathtub and drowned" (Whitney Houston Cause of Death -- Autopsy Complete, Results Pending Toxicology | TMZ.com). Also, the autopsy is finished, but toxicology reports will take 4-6 weeks.

In an earlier report, TMZ said that prescription drugs were found in her room, but no illegal drugs.

Bobbi Christina was rushed to the hospital this afternoon. Where the hell is that a-hole father of hers. That poor baby doesn't stand a chance.

I just read a report that said Chaka Khan will also sing in the tribute, along with JHud. Tonight's Grammys will probably be one of the most, if not the most, watched ever.
