I most remember Peter Falk from the early days with Cassavetes. He, John and Ben Gazzara. My mom and Dad just loved those 3 and Gena, of course.
Columbo as the icing on the cake for him.
    RIP, Mr. Falk.

Very sorry to hear about Nick Charles. 64 is way too young!!

I'm not a Republican, but I always had great respect for Betty Ford. She spoke her mind even when she disagreed with her husband, and she was open about important topics that a lot of people were too ashamed to discuss back in the day. When she went public with the fact that she had breast cancer or had been helped by seeing a psychiatrist or had an addiction to pills and alcohol, she convinced many people who were uncomfortable talking about such topics that doing so saved lives. Not to mention the fact that her Betty Ford Center helped a lot of people get clean and sober. We tend to forget it now, but it took some guts for her to attach her name to a recovery center when she did it. Back then, every other celebrity on the planet wasn't rushing off to Promises or chatting up Dr. Drew on VH-1.

My hat goes off to Betty Ford.
She did a lot to help those addicted, as well as those with breast cancer, mental health problems, etc.
RIP, Ms. Ford, and thank you for all you did for others.

I don't think I've seen this one here ... Sherwood Schwartz, creator of Gilligan's Island and The Brady Bunch among many other shows, has passed away.

    Also gone . . . . . Roberts Blossom.

He was "Marley" in the Home Alone movie, but I most remember him for the role of "Ned" in Northern Exposure who told the long story of how the town of Cicely got it's name. He was 87.

    Amy Winehouse dead at 27.

It's sad when someone dies so young . . . would be nice if people like Lindsay Lohan would take this as a wake-up call.
