You know, when people are determined to die, often, there is nothing that you can do to stop them. That's just the way it is. I have learned that they are "on a mission", and that's just the way it is. It's not about anybody else, it's just about them.

Gil Scott-Heron poet, musician and spoken word singer has died after years of drug abuse atage 62. Another talented person who couldn't defeat his demons. From what I heard he was still smoking crack up until his death.

He had a terminal illness so I was expecting it, just not...so soon. He also had pneumonia earlier this year so there's the possibility that with his weakened immune system it went away for a while, then came back. RIP Gil; you shall be missed. I loved his last CD.

It's being reported that Jack Kevorkian has passed away.

Jacob "Jack" Kevorkian (born May 26, 1928 died June 3, 2011) was an Armenian-American pathologist, right-to-die activist, painter, composer, instrumentalist, and convicted murderer. He is best known for publicly championing a terminal patient's right to die via physician-assisted suicide; he claims to have assisted at least 130 patients to that end. He famously said that "dying is not a crime."

Apparently it is illegal to help someone die peacefully but it is perfectly legal to take money from desperate people in the name of "The Rapture". Strange world we live in, this untouchable believe in a God allows so many people to get away with such unspeakable crimes.

I have many memories of watching Gunsmoke with my dad when I was young. My husband and I watch the reruns occasionally today.

    RIP Marshall Dillon

James Arness, the 6-foot-6 actor who towered over the television landscape for two decades as righteous Dodge City lawman Matt Dillon in "Gunsmoke," died Friday.

    He was 88.

The actor died in his sleep at his home in Brentwood, Calif., according to his business manager, Ginny Fazer.
Arness' official website posted a letter from Arness on Friday that he wrote with the intention that it be posted posthumously: "I had a wonderful life and was blessed with some many loving people and great friends," he said.
