Fanny, according to the musical's official website, Richard Gere played Danny and other roles as an understudy. In the original Broadway premiere of 1972, the original Danny was played by Barry Bostwick. Gere, however, played the lead of Danny in London and was an unknown then. I saw it on Broadway in the spring of 1974...we had great seats. Our entire senior class went there on a senior trip and by then Jeff Conaway played the lead.
Richard Gere is one of the men that I find VERY sexy. Remember him from American Gigalo? Check out his handsome face in this clip. Warning. There is some language by Lauren Hutton. She can't resist telling him what she wants to do to him. lol

I did not see Gere as Danny and I knew that Bostwick was the first, but I've tried to keep track of the multitudes of Danny's over the years regardless of where they played. Some of the actors who did that role are quite surprising and that makes me smile.
Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

Stupid, stupid Kanye, now fueding with Jimmy Kimmel? Lol what an idiot. Doesn't he know how futile it is to argue with a comedian? They always get the last (sarcastic) word and make you look like fool in the process. Go Jimmy!
And to think Kim Kardashian willing made a baby with this idiot.

Kanye...nor Chris Brown....seem to understand that in order to GET respect, you've got to GIVE respect. I don't have time for people's ill-raised children who act like that....talented or not.

When you throw a rock into a pack of dogs, you know which one you hit by the one that yelps!
It's futile if he wants to get in the last and/or most clever word. On the other hand, if his desire is to make sure people are paying attention to him, mission accomplished.
