I think performers are picked for events because they are GREAT at what they do...therefore, they should do what they do. Why lipsync if you're a singer?
so what if you mess up a little, people won't care...probably like you more because you're human like the rest of us.
To me, it's a lazy cop-out...and when you lip-sync, it makes us wonder if anything else was done to it, like a little auto-tune.
Not that I think Beyonce isn't a fabulous singer...she is so do it!

But they do care...Christina Aguilera got raked over the coals for losing her place in the anthem and singing a verse twice. She was slayed in the media for it.
I hate when the cops throw me in the back of the squad car ....like they didnít hear me call shotgun.

Exactly....if this board is any indication of boards, in general....we are talking first degree murder! It seems to be human nature to "pile on". It's not just our site/"family"!

Beyonce makes her living as a singer and entertainer. To go to arguably one of the biggest things this year, and possibly not do her job is just inexcusible. If she could not sing, than a replacement should have been given the shot. She lives a lifestyle the rest of us will never achieve, she needs to actually do her job.

I think it's today's society in which people seem to get their kicks from being as nasty as they can to others. I remember when Robert Goulet forgot the lyrics to our national anthem at a ball game. I don't recall of it was the Super Bowl or the World Series, or something else. Since he is a Canadian, I remember people giggling over it and laughing about it, but I don't remember them being cruel. Our species is devolving.

Sadly, I think that things are as they've always been - we just have a wider array of forums to display our collective viciousness so it's a bit more obvious. There was a time when people would pack a picnic lunch and head down to the executions in order to jeer and pelt the unfortunate executee.

People also packed picnic lunches & got into the buckboards & went out into the country to watch the first battle of the civil war. I don't think things are so much different, I just think with 24hr. news, we find out more stuff more immediate.
