She had a DUI several years ago and there was some drama with her possibly being suicidal. She broke off her engagement last fall and, at the time, her drinking (and his sobriety) was cited as one of the reasons.
She's been kind of a mess for the last few years. Sad.

So Paula Deen has - and has had (for several years) - diabetes and is going to be pimping a diabetes drug? Wow, couldn't have seen that coming and nice that she's able to make a profit from a disease that her style of cooking (from which she's profited hugely) likely helped bring on.
