There is NO way I am saying that his cheating is JUSTIFIED....just not surprising. Sorry if my post was confusing.

If you marry a "man" who could, agewise/maturitywise, could be your son, don't be surprised at what you get! Common sense is a wonderful and amazing thing!!

I think the age difference played a factor, but I also think him being young to begin with was a problem. If she were in her 50s and he were 15 years younger, but had been married, perhaps had children already, it might have worked out differently. But the guy was pretty young and immature when they got together to start with. It doesn't excuse what he did.

Well if she was murdered, yes.

As a general matter, I would agree with you. I look at some of these younger guys and while they may be nice to look at - they just look like a project to me!! However, I do have to say, my husband's best friend got married when he was 21 to someone who was about 8 years older than him. They have now been married 22 years with two kids and are still extremely happy together. So it can work - I think it really just depends on the people involved.

Sorry, but unless a new witness has suddenly appeared - to her death that occurred on a boat in the ocean - this investigation seems like a colossal waste of time and money. The captain of the boat (whose book seems to have precipitated this) has admitted to having been drunk that night and both Robert Wagner and Christopher Walken were drinking and/or high. Not sure about the other person on board. There is no evidence to be collected since the boat is in HI now with a different owner. Unless there's some in a box somewhere at the police station that was never looked at, this is going to be fruitless.

I think this should have been done 30 years ago and I really question if this would be happening if she wasn't famous. I doubt the police would be doing anything if this new book wasn't being published, which might cause people to question the job the police did on the initial investigation. Call me cynical, but if someone called into the station with the same information, I doubt they would have done anything. It feels more like PR/protecting their reputation than an actual investigation.

As for the older woman/younger man thing, Juliet Mills and Maxwell Caulfield have been married for over 30 years and they married when he was 21 and she was 39. They don't have children together. Sometimes, it has nothing to do with age - people just fall in love and it works.

I don't think cheating can be blamed in Ashton's age - I think character has more to do with it....and I feel bad saying that because I actually like him.

I'm not saying it's age; I vote for maturity. And 2 people who ARE cut out for this madness will find each other, every once in a while....you know...like a blind pig finding an acorn, sometimes it happens!!

Guys are known to be slow maturers.....more likely, than not. Some people prefer and work better in mother (father)/child relationships...not that I can imagine who, but I am sure these people are out there!!!

There are no absolutes in this, either way you go.

I remember the big deal when they got married. I had heard rumors about him bakc then, but nary a whiff of scandal has crossed his path. Plus, he had always struck me as being quite mature and her as being quite sensible.

    Re: Miscellaneous Celebrity News

I think Ashton was completely, madly in love with Demi, in the beginning but being in love with an "image" and being with a real person can be two different things. He was awfully young and we all make stupid decisions when young. Rumor has it that they had an open marriage but that doesn't make sense in light of this latest escapade. To me, the very fact that he was with someone else and not Demi on the night of their 6th wedding anniversary leaves a lot of unanswered questions.
As for Natalie Wood's death, no matter how much she and Wagner had problems in their marriage(s), no matter how jealous he was of Walken and her, no one but a maniac could let a woman, who was deathly afraid of "dark water" stay out there for hours. What human could do that? and what does it say about the captain who decided to obey Wagner's decision to ignore looking for a missing woman? Wouldn't anyone try to find her even if it meant losing your job??
I think the captain just wants to bring back attention to his book.
