Report: Amy Winehouse Could Be Brain-Damaged From Drugs

Shocking details of Amy Winehouse’s drug use emerged Sunday night — including a report that she binged on crystal meth and may have brain damage after a 36-hour marijuana marathon.

The singer, 24, suffered two major overdoses, with such bad convulsions that they were “like a scene from 'The Exorcist.'”

And her body is so frail from drug use that doctors were scared she would break bones during a fit.

A close friend of Amy’s warned medics that one more overdose will probably kill her.

The friend revealed:

- Amy's first overdose in August 2007 was from cocaine, heroin, ecstasy, ketamine and crystal meth.

- She was advised to see a psychiatrist after displaying “multiple personality traits” that made her a suicide risk.

- Her second overdose was in July — when she inhaled an “inhuman” amount of marijuana that left her vomiting uncontrollably and hallucinating.

At the time, Winehouse's devoted dad Mitch, 54, said it was a “bad reaction to her medication.”

Medics are worried Amy’s brain was damaged by the cannabis overdose — she displayed symptoms normally associated with schizophrenia.

“The future is bleak, bleak, bleak," the friend said yesterday.

In October's Details, Daniel Radcliffe confesses that he lost his virginity at age 16 (Britain's age of consent) -- and that the woman was older.

The age difference "wasn't ridiculous," the actor, now, 19, says. "But it would freak some people out."

(Though Radcliffe doesn't name-drop, a source says in the new issue of Us Weekly the ex is Amy Byrne, an assistant hairdresser who was 23 when they met on the set of 2005's Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. His rep had no comment.)

Despite the hanky-panky, Radcliffe — who also says he'd like to play a "drag queen" one day — insists his life isn't too racy.

"I don't pretend to do anything particularly wild," he says. "People talk about rebellion and they say, 'Where is the teenage angst?'

"But I say I try to do it simply by the choices I make in the work I do," he goes on. "I just like wrong-footing people. I write poetry and I love it. I like being different from most other people in my generation."

What is it about English celebs that they frequently seem to spill stuff like this? From sex-capades to "who fought on the set of X-Factor", I always see these little secret spilling stories coming from the U.K.

And what is it with child or teen stars that once they get a certain age and want to be seen as adults, have to prove it with stuff like this? All that proves is that they still need to grow up a bit.

I read somewhere, can't remember exactly where, that David Duchovny said he was addicted to internet porn. And the only reason he told the media about it was because a person in his support group was going to sell the story to the tabloids.

Mackenzie Phillips charged with drug possession

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Mackenzie Phillips was charged Wednesday with felony possession of drugs for allegedly carrying narcotics at Los Angeles International Airport.

District attorney's spokeswoman Jane Robison said the former teen star was charged with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, heroin and cocaine.

She was arrested last week at the airport after failing a security screening while trying to catch a flight to New York. A secondary search turned up needles and suspected drugs, authorities said.

Phillips' attorney, Blair Berk, told a judge Wednesday that the actress has entered rehab.

She also faces a misdemeanor count of unauthorized possession of a needle or syringe.

Phillips, 48, is out on $20,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Oct.3.

She is the daughter of John Phillips, founder of the Mamas and the Papas pop group. She was fired from "One Day At a Time" in 1982 for drug-related reasons.

From everything I've heard and seen over the past few years, I thought she was clean. Either she fell off the wagon or she had gotten really good at hiding it. Or it's "really officer, I merely found these drugs and was taking them to the nearest police station when you pulled me over". at Cheech & Chong reference that most of you are too young to remember...

She was clean and sober for a long time. She was on some behind the scenes look at tv sitcoms talking about how smashed she was when she came to work, etc. She even talked about calling Valerie over the years and finally talking with her and apologizing for how she behaved. That's really sad.
