See, THIS seems like a case of someone genuinely checking himself in to prevent a problem. Versus Mel, who some people were (I think, wrongly) lauding for checking himself in just for what appeared to be spin control.

I think his friend Mel's situation was a wakeup call (oooh, reading backwards again... ClosetNerd mentioned that.) It's a shame everyone doesn't have the courtesy of a friend who will F up first.

I have more respect for Robin Williams checking himself in after falling off the wagon after 20 years, than for Mel Gibson who knew he had a problem, and chose not to do anything about it until he got caught in a publicity mess. Either way, that's two men temporarily off the roads driving while drunk.

    And that's a good thing.

Did I miss the part about Robin Williams driving drunk as well?

RW has always struck me kind of a tortured soul. I know he had a serious drug problem back in the 80's and I've always sensed a lot of sadness just underneath the surface with him. I applaud him for being proactive about the situation and taking care of it before it gets worse. Maybe Mel's "incident" did motivate Robin to get help, but somehow, I can't imagine Robin reacting the same way were he to get pulled over for drinking and driving. I can imagine him dropping trou and making funny voices. Hell, he does that sober.

So Dave Navarro isn't even divorced yet but he's already dating newly separated herself, jenna jameson.

Critical: I took 'license' to assume that most alcoholics at one time or another do drive while under the influence. Just because he hasn't been caught doesn't mean he hasn't done it.

Amy Lee: Who's Jenna Jameson? Isn't Dave Navarro a legend in his own mind?

P.S. - I don't see anything outright offensive on that Wikipedia page, but be cautious just in case. Something, maybe a movie title, can always offend someone. There's a PG-13 level picture on that page too.

Thanks Krom! I don't watch porn. I'm sure she has a great personality. But, I'd have to agree with Closet Nerd's sarcasm. Claassy. She's certainly been successful at her chosen profession.
