It makes me wonder if Brooke ever just takes Katie aside and says "call your old friends!" 'Cause supposedly, as is required by the Chief Antennaheads, Katie has cut most of them off. The mere fact that they have such a thing as a "Celebrity Centre" should alert these celebs that they aren't getting an accurate picture of "regular Scientology". Then again, maybe they just don't care--after all, they are being treated well, within certain ridiculous boundaries, I mean. Just as interesting to me as the list of current celeb Scientologists is the list of past ones (same link as the current ones in my previous post--towards the bottom of the linked page). The level of involvement with most of them was probably little more than attending a seminar or two and then not doing more, but even that reveals the interesting concept that these folks have gone to these things and yet for a variety of reasons kept mum about it for the most part. The power of either embarrassment, or threats have kept them quiet apparently. I mean Oliver Stone? Don't you think he'd normally have something to say about this?

I did some research on his involvement last year, as his daughter is Erin Brodie of FLOM fame, and (at least then, no idea now) the girlfriend of Will on BBAS.

| Re: Miscellaneous Celebrity News The truly sad part of all of this is that Jett is now 14. Kids these days are being diagnosed with autism much earlier now....even as young as 3. Back when Jett would have been three, parents would have started noticing certain things that their child would be doing that would have set off some bells (one would think!) and have that child tested. I know several kids who are now 14-16 who have austism. Their parents didn't get a final definite diagnosis of autism until their child was about 6 or 7. But even at age 3, these children were in special schools geared toward autism and starting to get a lot of therapy in year-round programs. Most are now in regular classes. Some are brilliant, others not quite so. There are so many levels of autism. It saddens me to think just how much Jett could have benefited from early intervention. Here in NY State, if a parent has concerns about their child, they discuss their concerns with their pediatrician who then refers the parent to get an evaluation (insurance covers this). Once the evaluation is complete, if the child qualifies for early intervention, they are enrolled in school (usually starting at age 2 or 3) full time. It does not cost the parents anything, as this is all done through the county and in conjunction with the school districts. This Scientology mumbo-jumbo just gets scarier and scarier. |

| Feelin' FoRTified~ | Re: Miscellaneous Celebrity News Denise Richards, Richie Sambora Split, Rep For Actress Confirms Couple Called It Quits Months Ago - The ShowBuzz Denise Richards, Richie Sambora Split Rep For Actress Confirms Couple Called It Quits Months Ago (CBS) Actress Denise Richards and Richie Sambora called it quits a few months ago, a rep for the actress confirmed Tuesday. The couple began dating last April, after the Bon Jovi guitarist had split from his wife of nearly 12 years, Heather Locklear, Richard's one-time friend. "They split a few months ago," Richards' rep, Jill Fritzo, told The ShowBuzz on Tuesday. "They were trying to keep it as quiet as possible so they don't have to live in the media spotlight," Fritzo said. "They have been extremely supportive of each other." Fritzo said Richards attended the funeral of Sambora's father last month when he died of cancer. Richards, 36, was previously married to actor Charlie Sheen. They have two children together. Sambora and Locklear wed in December of 1994. They have a daughter named Ava. Last year, Richards told "Entertainment Tonight" that she didn't begin seeing Sambora until after Locklear filed for divorce. Fast Fact Denise Richards' publicist said the actress attended the funeral of Richie Sambora's father last month when he died of cancer. She added that her relationship with Sambora was not the cause of her breakup with Sheen. "We didn't meddle in anybody's marriage or anything like that," she said. Richards said that she, Locklear, Sheen, and Sambora were all friendly with one another, but that she and Locklear were not "best friends." Although they were close in the last few years, their friendship is no longer "salvageable," she told "ET." |
